Johnny Dio/Victor Reisel

Can anyone provide more info on Johnny dio? I believe he eventually became a Lucchese capo is that accurate or was he just a very powerful Lucchese soldier largely involved in the Teamsters? If he was a soldier, was he in Jimmy Doyle Palmieri's crew?

Regarding Victor Reisel, I know Dio blinded him with acid, but was wondering if anyone could post any of the articles from his time about organized crime? Love to read what he wrote prior to the Dio attack and then after i think I read he kept going after OC/union corruption? I know archival prints are tough to find and often cost money, but any insight or articles would be greatly appreciated..thanks fellas

You can try to get on Google and search his name in the papers that are online and you might can find something that way. Worth a shot.

I thought the acid blinding was because he was writing less about Dio directly but in general about the crime family. I any case Dio was heavily involved in the garment district and the unions that were involved with them.

Thanks mighty that was a real good article answered alotta my questions about dio... It says he had 2 sons who were made men one in the Columbo family and one in the Lucchese family.. Does anyone know more about them? They still alive and or active?

Im embarassed to ask bc Goodfellas ls my favorite movie of all time but it is Dio in the can with Paulie and Henry right? Did those Guys actually serve time together? I thought I remembered reading in Pileggis book that they did but cant find my damn copy .... Side note but does anyone have an idea who Vinny the other wiseguy in the prison scene that puts in too many onions and agrees to go on a diet with Paulie actually is? I know the actual actor i think is Scorsese's dad but who is it supposed to be? My guess is Vincent Dinapoli?

Henry Hill, Paul Vario and Johnny Dio all did time together in Lewisberg according to Wiseguy. There's a great part in the book where Hill first arrives in prison. He's waiting in line for a uniform, pillow etc, guards are barking orders, then he sees Paulie, Johnny Dio and Andy Ruggierio in the distance laughing. The guards clam up and Paulie takes Henry away

The Vinnie is Vinnie Aloi, the Colombo captain. According to Hill, he did indeed put too much onions in the sauce. Johnny Dio did panfried steak. Funnily enough, Jimmy Doyle who you mentioned earlier was in there with them too.

also in the book and in the movie, it tells how henry is using johnny dios room, and using his safe to stash drugs,

dio wanted to kill him, but paulie saved him., again.
that punk henry hill should have been dead for stashing drugs
in with dios legal papers, but, paulie came to his recue,

how many times when vario was in the joint, do you think he wished he would have killed the punk hill.
