I don't believe his son. It is a widely known fact that Gambino slapped Colombo's face in a Brooklyn bar (in front of many people) a few weeks before the shooting. Gambino told Joe to "stop the crap".

Yep. Colombo was in a bar in Brooklyn celebrating his birthday with friends. Carlo Gambino came into the bar with a few friends of his own. He walked over to Colombo and told him to cut out all the crap, slapped him hard in the face and walked out. Colombo had to take it.
He was shot two weeks later.

I heard the story from someone who knew someone that was there. It was also reported in a book later written by a former NY police commissioner.

Gambino used crazy joe gallo for organize the shooting and gallo used a black man promising him 100 000 $ for kill colombo. That it Carlo used other men for do the dirty work. Maybe said to gallo that will be the new boss if colombo die.

Thanks for that info SC. Never heard of that. I've always thought Gambino was behind Colombo's shooting ever since Joey Cantalupo talked about it in the Crime Inc documentary.

Anthony Colombo clearly had his own agenda, pretty much the entirety of the circumstantial evidence points to Carlo Gambino being behind the Colombo murder and setting it up in such a way that Joey Gallo took the fall.

Not to mention I've read his book, and he also paints the picture that Colombo was politically assassinated, but he also tries to imply that his father didn't run a crime family and was simply a civil rights leader.

The fact that Colombo's kid lies about his father not being a mob boss and the civil rights league being anything other than the scam it was automatically discredits everything else he says IMO.
