Why can some people who ratted still be living open and others like Phil leonetti is hiding.

Mainly cause the damage has already been done, and the guys that were ratted out are dead, in prison, or getting released at an old age. Leonetti is hiding cause Scarfo has not forgotten about him, true Nicky is not as powerful as he once was, but Phil has to worry about the Narducci brothers and a few others, who spent a lot of time behind bars. It is pretty much you hit this guy and the cops and feds are going to be all over you, which is bad for business.

I believe that many of those who have been ratted out and done time are having second thoughts about getting even and risking going back to prison again since law enforcement is getting better at solving murders. There will always be hot heads that will go after the squealers

In many case killing a rat gave too much heat on a family. The Gravano case with miciotta and another seno to kill him is only because gotti sr was alive.
Vincent Palermo live in texas and was make photo of him.
Leonetti is different nicky sr until will be alive will try to kill his nephew and more the Narducci and the others that made more time thanks to phill will never forget.
At the end depend by the rat rank.

Massino for sure will stay hidden until death, because was a simbol the only boss of the 5 Fams that ratted while an associate or a made man is enough that stay out of where her borgata make bussiness.

You think so, Furio? About Massino? I don't know, man. My guess is he won't stay hidden. Doesn't he still have real estate interests in NY?

Why Montreal ? For the Sciascia murder ? However I dont think that if Massino dont fear the bonannos why become a honest bussiness man like vinny ocean in texas?

They used to kill rats, in the era of Frank Costello and Luciano, they murdered several guys who were even held up in a safehouse filled with cops. They always managed, but as mentioned earlyer, it's easier to solve murders today, government isn't as corrupt and heat-bill is too damn expensive.

I don't think Leonetti or anyone is really in danger, the main reason why Leonetti is hiding his faces is so that his new neighbors won't recognize him.

i think leonetti needs to watch out, even in this day and age....being a piece shit doesnt get you far eg meldish shooting in 2013 and im pretty sure junior gotti was stabbed by a someone from mob

They were able to kill informants back then because they owned cops and judges, they were on their payroll. Thats really what gave the mafia so much strength.
Thats completely over and one of the main reasons informants are relatively safe from harm.
Why do informants get killed in mexico? The cartels own both the cops and politicians.

Furio. Manno and Sollecito were close to George From Canada. Also there is a rumor that before Vito passed away, he put out a contract on Massino.
