Vinny Teresa/ Joe Paterno (Gambinos) question - 03/03/16 07:10 AM

Im reading Vinny Teresas book and so far its great lotta info I had no idea about and I highly recommend it..was hoping someone could clear something up..in the book he describes Jerry Angiulo as the boss of Boston but basically as the top capo in the Patriarca fam and says that Henry Tameleo is Raymonds underboss..ive always thought based on previous readings that Jerry Angiulo was the Underboss and Tameleo was the consigliere? Can amy of the more knowledgeable posters clear that up?

Also Teresa mentions dealing with Gambino capo Joe Paterno. He states that Paterno is the top NJ capo in the family and that he has a large crew of assassins..can anyone elaborate on Joe Paterno, his crew, his territory, reign, and who succeeded him as skipper. Every fuckin google search juse comes up with results for the Penn State coach..as always any insight is much appreciated..thanks fellas

Joe Paterno was a powerhouse capo from the early 60s through to his death in 1988. He was succeeded by Tony "C" Carminati who was capo til his death in 1998. Arnold Zeke Squiteri took over for a couple of years til he was made underboss in 99. Alphonse Funzie Sisca then took over this crew and is still in charge today.

Sisca's got a lot of responsibility, not just his Jersey crew, no doubt Bo is his right hand man

This has a lot of information about Gambino NJ operations, the Manna/Gotti rivalry, and Genovese and Gambino absorption of Philadelphia mob rackets.

Carminati

Quote:
Another family member residing and operating in New Jersey is 78-year-old Anthony Carminati of Fort Lee. Despite his age, Carminati remains active in illegal activities such as gambling, loan-sharking, narcotics, labor racketeering and infiltra- tion of legitimate business. Although a longtime family member, Carminati is not respected by other New Jersey members, in part because he unwittingly allowed an undercover police officer to infiltrate a family loanshark operation several years ago. Therefore, his power within LCN circles in the state is limited. In addition, group leaders currently lack confidence in Carminati's abilities because he is a heavy drinker.

This is interesting.

"Reportedly, Gotti has a working relationship with Michael Taccetta, an influential member of the Lucchese/Corallo/Amuso group in northern New Jersey. It should be noted that Michael Taccetta and his brother Martin began their criminal careers under the tutelage of the late Gambino caporegime Joseph Paterno before becoming members of the Lucchese organization."

Never knew or heard of that.

Yeah hasn't Filippelli been the top guy in Jersey for 10 years or so? Funzi may be the official boss, but I wouldn't be surprised if Filippelli runs everything.

Does anyone have any insight on this? Still reading this book and way confused about if Jerry is the UB or if Tameleo is from the 60s- until Henry went away.

Tameleo was imprisoned for life in 68' after which Angiulo became Underboss, and his brother was Consigliere for Patriarca Sr.
