It's common around here, but I can't answer why as each instance may be different. Some people are named Charles-chuck-Chucky-Chickie.

I don't know why for Frank or Joseph though. It doesn't have anything to do with chickens though. lol.

The guys in philly come from generations of mob guys even if they were not made or known associates they did all they could to help the mob what ever it took to get a brother or a cousin moved up.
