Dont think this has been posted before but if it has I apologize...interesting article on the Genovese

They mention the Romano brothers controlling Fulton Fish Market for 20 years and then when they got 2 bros out, they admitted that Peter Romano was then in control..anyone know more about them? As with many Genovese guys havent heard much of anything about those names

They also mention Michael Sciarra I believe as a Genovese guy secretly controlling Teamsters 560 in Union the notorious Provenzano union I believe..wonder if that local is still connected to Sciarra or the Genovese? Obviously not looking to spill any beans just curious if anyone has any insight theyd be willing to share..thanks fellas and happy holidays!

IBT Local 560 has been cleaned up for a long time now. It was one of the first locals the feds went after. But Sciarra was busted back in 2003 in a labor racketeering case involving IBT Local 701.

Ivy thanks for tbe answer pal..so none of the Sciarras are involved or any other Genovese is even peripherally connected to ibt 560? I dont doubt your info as you're one of the most knowledgeable posters here I just figured that since the Genovese have literally owned this union since after WWII that even if its in a trusteeship or govt oversight that through a relative or some connection they were still gettin no show jobs or pilfering insurance policies?

Do you or anyone else know do the Romanos or ne Genovese or Gambino guys have a piece of tbe fulton fish market still? The article is not that long ago, hard to believe they still basically ran this multi million dollar industry?

In front of his Uncles restaurant and base of operations, Carmine's Italian Seafood.

Beekman and Front, near the old Fulton Market.

I would say early to mid 70's.

@Mikeyballs...No problem...Yeah, he WAS a skipper...Two of his top soldiers, Rosario Gangi and Alphonse Malangone went on to become Capos in the Family.

William Romano, genovese member, murdered in Brooklyn in 2009.

I have posted this many times, and not sure it applies to carmine romano, but here it is anyway.

As I said above, Local 560 has been cleaned up for years now. It took the feds a long time to do it though. They targeted it early on because it was one of the most notoriously corrupt and mob controlled locals in the country.

is Sciarra made? He is actually one of my good friend from high schools grandfather. We would always joke around about him being in the mob but this was in high school
Before I had much of an interest and read anything about the mob. He kept odd hours and some summer nights we would still be partying at 2 am by the pool and we would see him go out to his car and leave until the morning lol.

Pretty interesting stuff his mother (my buddy's mom his daughter) was actually quite the criminal too. She ended up getting charged with some type of scam related to selling trucks (.like 18 wheelers) but they didn't exist. She was on the run for a while and my friend would every once in a while get a card stuffed with cash from her... She was such an awesome lady too. But I have lost touch with him but I'm pretty sure his grandpa (Sciarra) still lives in my town.
