Costanostra news has an article.

The article so includes family membership estimates which were interesting. Smaller numbers than expected.

Writing was pretty horrible too! I am a CPA and sometimes my write ups need some editing but even I could see the writing was pretty awful for a writer!

And the amount of pop ups omg so annoying!

But interesting article.

The figures he posted are from a 2004. Some of them look feasible. Others nor so much.

Some other things in the article that stood out...

Federici and Malangone were once under Generoso? As in the same crew?

The Colombos and Bonannos almost extinct and being largely run by the other families? Doubtful on both points.

I'm not sure either Generoso or Dentico ever had the underboss spot.

It was an expensive chair. He didn't want to break it.

Wasnt generoso indicted as the acting underboss back in the 90's? also al darco said that Generoso was introduced to him as the acting underboss.

Ivy I know the article is from 2004 but I expected larger member ship.

listed are soldier and capos :

Genovese 142 and 22
Gambinos 168 17
luchese 82 9
Bonanos 131 15
Columbos 60 and 5

It's interesting that the Gambinos have more soldiers but less Capos compared to the Genovese.

Also the Bonanos with double the soldiers only have 5 capos with the Colombos.
You can tell its old based on the leadership too.

I also didn't know that Steven Crea was the underboss.

Haha I rarely post but I know what you are referring to and that wasn't my goal. I could honestly care less who the boss is now. I do think he is but I was just unaware he held that position.

And what I'm saying is some of those figures just don't jive with other official estimates. When I first saw the article years ago I wondered if they were active members on the street rather than total membership.

In Crea's indictment in 2000 it said he had been both the acting boss and underboss at different times.

Them numbers were WAY off. Genovese & Gambino's are 200 plus. None of the other 3 have less then 100.

His site is okay but for an "author" his grammar is atrocious and the fuckin pop ups are ridiculous...plus knowledgeable guys that I believe way more than him like PB, bronx, and ivy claim hes a fraud

Back to Generoso..so he came up in Vitos crew in the 50s is that the consensus?

At this point with Scarpo, I'd wait for confirmation that Gerneroso is dead. Do we have an obit? Considering his age it's likely.

Scarpo will occaisionally gets scopes, but then he goes about posting ten year-old figures listing people who have fipped in administration and saying that two families are "controlled" by the the other three, on top the sensationized rumors. Anything posted on that site has to throug some tough bullshit filters.

Edit: And don't even get me started on the pop-ups! urgh.
