Baltimore Crew - 11/11/15 10:51 PM

I was wondering is there any info on the Gambino`S Baltimore Crew, I read that they had 10 made members and 50 associates.

They got wiped out by the Genovese's Annapolis crew in the great Zuchinni War of 1987.

They stepped on toes of Vincent "Vinnie" Barbarino one to many times and paid for it.

In all seriousness, the crew (what was left of it anyway) was disbanded when capo Frank Corbi died in 1990. No mob presence there since.

i think there was a couple corbi brothers.. i was always surprised there wasn't more activity down in Baltimore. I mean its so close to Jersey, philly, nyc so i figured Baltimore and/or Washington DC would be perfect for a family or even just a crew besides the one small Gambino crew with the Corbi's.. plus it had plenty of Italians and has a nice little italy section in downtown Baltimore... I bet back in late 1800's and early 1900's there was probably something going on with all the regular rackets but probably faded away early on.

My understanding is they were an independent group until they were brought into the family during the reign of Vincent Mangano.

Succession:

Vincenzo "Jim" Urso (19??-1923) Fled to Canada.
Vito Corbi (1923-1929) Died.
Pasquale "Patsy" Corbi (1929-1955) Died.
Luigi Morici (1955-1966) Retired.
Frank Corbi (1966-1990) Died. (Crew disbanded)

Joseph Corbi was Frank's brother and in the food wholesale business. He died in 1999.

I thought he was one of those sentenced to life in prison (some other defendants were hanged). How did he manage to escape to Canada? Was he paroled from prison or did he flee before ever being arrested and was sentenced in absentia?

sickstyle - do u think they still control gambling and shy in Bmore? Curious since i got to LS at Univ of balt and live here currently.

Honestly this city is such a shithole, the mafia could improve the place...least as far as organizing crime and stopping the animals from all the senseless violence...and you all know who i mean when I say animals but bc of this PC bullshit climate of our current country, I cant say the actual truth without coming off as grand dragon of the fuckin Klan...
