Dean was a true street kid. Grew up poor and tough. Dealt cards for wiseguys (who preferred his company to Frank's). Sinatra had every advantage growing up through his Mother Dolly's political connections (which helped him early on, the wiseguys came in after the fact). He had a brand new car in high school during THE DEPRESSION. He was a spoiled kid who became a spoiled adult. And keep in mind that there isn't a bigger Sinatra fan on this board than me. But it's Dino. Hands fucking down.

has anyone heard the storu about john gotti and sintra
in 1990 john and joe watts went to see frank he said he was "ill" anyway john was made but left it but a few hours later he sees frank sintra at the same bar looking very healthy. This angered john deeply so he sent over joe watts to see sintra and joe said "if you ever show john this amount of disrespect again i will be the last face you see" apparently then sintra started screaming at his agent real panicking never happened again frank always respected john after that.
The day john got arrested he was meant to see frank
in 1990 john and joe watts went to see frank he said he was "ill" anyway john was made but left it but a few hours later he sees frank sintra at the same bar looking very healthy. This angered john deeply so he sent over joe watts to see sintra and joe said "if you ever show john this amount of disrespect again i will be the last face you see" apparently then sintra started screaming at his agent real panicking never happened again frank always respected john after that.

Pizza has NAILED IT !!!!
Sinatras Mother Dolly even bought him an early PA (Public Address System) so he could be the main guy in the Hoboken Four.
Like PB says this was at the worst of the depression.
Whenever there was a fight even in later years, before he'd take a swing at somebody he'd always make sure one of his big goon body guards or Jilly Rizzo wasn't too far away in case things got out of hand.
The only time I think he really popped somebody was Lee Meriweather.
Also most of his life (until later years) he was as skinny as a toothpick. Dean had a nice build on him. Check out some of the pics of Dean with no shirt on and you'll see what I mean.
Dean was very accessible backstage. You couldn't get within 20 feet of Frank even if you were plying in the band! He was surrounded by security all the time.
