Yeah they still have quite a bit of union power that they don't get credit for.

Now look at the industries these unions cover, the businesses that intersect, and look at the companies that service these needs,I'll bet money you will start to make all kinds of outfit connections; I was trying to tell some guys this is the place to look if you want to figure out what is going on with the outfit, it's not made guys on the street, it's businessmen in suits; ITs not a list of made men, it's the list of the guys on llc corporate charters....

The question is, is it actually crime family business, or just businesses with ties to people with ties to crime families...

I'm aware of the family relations of the guys from the other locals posted in this thread. What is the mob connection here?

Patrick Bruno (Local 703 VP)
Sam Scianna (Local 703 Trustee & Business Agent)
Anthony Carioscia (Local 703 Trustee & Business Agent)

Is Carioscia related to Michael Carioscia who was on the 1997 CCC Outfit chart?

Re: Teamster executive board Chicago 2015 - 09/08/15 11:12 PM

This is when Mike Carioscia was busted for dealing heroin to an agent with Armando and Ben Pennacchio.

Don't know if this is the right Michael Carioscia but it looks like it could be his father or grandfather. Nothing concrete, I've seen this Local, but have never really been able to tie any of them together with the outfit or associates.

There is a little more than family relations going on in these. Pudgy is a made man, Mark Spano(paul's son) and Steve Torello(Turk's son) are on the international board with Rocco Miranti and Johnny Miranti from New York who just got busted, which you posted about in the Black Hand Forum. This is a civil rico against members of that board.

http://www.leagle.com/decision/200813805...S%20JOINT%20BD.

John Coli has also had a civil rico lodged against him and his brother.

http://www.scribd.com/doc/97836698/Teamsters-Coli-RICO-Complaint#scribd

James Glimco has also been involved in some shady stuff with the Union that Matassa is in, but he was not involved in this or was not in
AWU #711 at the time. You will have to scroll up one page for the start of the summary. Sorry.

it would be one hell of a coincidence if all of these guys were just family relations

chicago is crooked and will always be run the chicago way

Those guys are lucky they didn't get banned from the union. (If the are actual wiseguys they SHOULD be banned) The Teamsters is (or was) under Federal government supervision, and I understand innocent truck drivers and people like that were chased out simply for being related to the wrong person. There's a thread about that on here somewhere.

Mike Carioscia is younger than the guy you listed Slick. Not sure if he is still alive, though.

Yeah I meant it could be the Dead Mike or the son named Mike, which it obviously doesn't have his age. But like I said I didn't have a clue if there was any relation between the guy in the Outfit and Anthony Carioscia of local #703
How old would the real Mike Carioscia be now Snakes?

Early eighties, I think. Don't much about him, really.

But it's interesting right? Like what does this tell you?
It's like when the reporters and politicians say we need a casino downtown to fix the pensions,(lol, pensions, Chicago,) but they are worried about " organized crime influence".
Like, who the hell are they talking about, Russians? The gd's?
And without major clout in a union, what leverage would the mob have, violence? Please, it's 2015
I brought this up before, look at the suburb casinos, all the bars in the loop, and on rush and whatnot. Construction, they want to put in a garbage fee now, gambling, there just seems to be too much business for someone not to be involved....

The Outfit has certainly attempted to get involved but it appears a good job has been done of keeping them out. Such as DiFronzo or the Boscarinos not allowed to do business with the Emerald casino or the Bastones not allowed to do business with the Grand Victoria riverboat casino. Other efforts to get involved in legal casino gambling, like the Lac du Flambeau tribal boat casino or the Kenosha casino deal with the Menominee tribe, seem to have fizzled out.

Well it's one potential avenue into legalized gambling. Not exactly a new scheme either. DiFronzo and others were busted back in the early 1990s for conspiring to gain control of an Indian casino in California so they could skim from it

Re: Teamster executive board Chicago 2015 - 09/14/15 02:17 AM

There are similar stories about the Outfit and Indian casinos here in Oklahoma. I don't give them a whole lot of credence myself.

What about scamming indian casinos is a joke? I'm not following.

Re: Teamster executive board Chicago 2015 - 09/14/15 07:00 AM

Lol, that's naïveté; You are talking about a legalized, government protected, probably tax exempt casino, it's gotta be at least as good as any illegal casino operating in a city, all you would really need is a junket. I remember reading about a consortium of New York families investing in a "Charity gambling"event at a Jewish synagogue. The law said they could allow gambling for some fuckin silly reason I forget, but the point is it was basically as legit as an illegal casino could be.....

Yeah, no kidding. Here is another interesting coincidence and family connections.

Frank Fertitta III, the founder and CEO of Stations Casino, is the son of Chicago Outfit associate Frank Fertitta, Jr. Frank Jr. was identified as a participant in the skimming operation during the Strawman testimony and in a secretly recorded conversation entered as evidence at the 1985 Strawman trial in Kansas City.

Station's Casino was fined $1M and kicked out of Missouri in 2000, after it was found to be illegally influencing Missouri Gaming Commission decisions (the "Michael Lazaroff" scandal).

The Fertitta family was originally from Galveston and is related to Sam Maceo, the mob boss of Galveston from the 1930s to 1950s. Maceo was close with Carlos Marcello in NOLA. Maceo helped secure a Nevada gaming license for Moe Dalitz, when the Cleveland mobster moved to Vegas in the 1940s. Tilman Fertitta was a successful restaurant chain operator, who owned Landry's seafood chain and Willie G.'s.

Frank Jr. is Tilman's cousin and an owner of Station's Casino. "He (Frank Fertitta) had been associated with Carl Thomas at the Tropicana when it was being skimmed for the Kansas City and Chicago Mafia families," according to former FBI agent William F. Roemer Jr., author of War of the Godfathers. Frank Jr. could not get a casino license because of his involvement in Strawman, so Stations got one under Frank III's name.
