Celebs and OC - 03/25/15 04:40 PM

Has there been any celebraties or famous people involved with or been good friends with any members of OC throughout the years. Obviously know the obvious ones like the rat pack, Sinatra etc. al Pacino, de niro, Pesci etc?

Re: Celebs and OC - 03/25/15 04:42 PM

Also have any famous people been extorted by the mafia or even been involved in mafia rackets/commited crimes or even been associates?

Re: Celebs and OC - 03/25/15 04:44 PM

Look up the steven segal extortion case. Kinda funny.

PS- slow down a bit. Check old posts on the search option. A lot of this has been discussed tons of times here

Re: Celebs and OC - 03/25/15 04:54 PM

Actor Jerry Orbach was dining with Joey Gallo and his family at Umberto's Clam House when Gallo was gunned down. Orbach was known to frequently socialize with connected guys up until the time of his death (purely social).
James Caan has and probably still keeps the company of wiseguys on occasion.
Frozen chicken magnate Frank Perdue purportedly had some business dealings with Big Paul, which is ironic because snide remarks had been made in the past about Castellano's physical resemblance to Perdue.

George Raft was connected. Pat DiCicco as well, he was married to Thelma Todd and Gloria Vanderbilt and he was a cousin of Cubby Broccoli, who produced all the old James Bond movies. Lana Turner and Johnny Stompanato of course.

http://www.ranker.com/list/celebrities-with-alleged-ties-to-the-mafia/josh-heller

Frank Sinatra's uncle, Babe Garavante, was a member of the Morettis and was convicted of murder in 1921 after driving the getaway car from an armed robbery. Over the years, Old Blue Eyes was consistently tied to the Gambino, Genovese, and Colombo families.

Marilyn Monroe allegedly spent her last night alive with gangster Sam Giancana in Lake Tahoe, CA. That night, he supposedly convinced her not to go public with her affair with JFK. The next day, she was found dead of an apparent suicide. Never go against the Kennedys IMO

Frankie Valli

The Four Seasons frontman has ties to the Genoveses. He admits the connections: "Where I grew up, in New Jersey, there was a lot of organized crime activity. It was a part of life." If you were an entertainer in the 60s, you'd rub shoulders with mob guys all the time; they owned most of the clubs.

Joe Namath

This football personality has been connected to both the Gambinos and the Luccheses through his seedy Upper East Side bar, Bachelors III. So many bookies, loan sharks, and mobsters came through the doors that the NFL ordered Namath to divest himself from the place.

Jerry Orbach

This deceased "Law & Order" star was connected to the Colombos. He was an eyewitness in the murder of Crazy Joe Gallo, but refused to cooperate with police. Even though Orbach saw the shooter, he went to his grave never revealing who it was.

According to MafiaInformation.com, this British bombshell has been linked to the Colombos. Hurley is said to have associated with Colombo Capo Donnie "Shacks" Montemarono, who was investigated by the FBI for fixing UCLA football games. Charges were dropped, but he stayed on their radar.

Wayne Newton

This Las Vegas mainstay allegedly has connections to the Gambinos. Newton has publicly admited to knowing Guido Penosi of the Gamino crime family, but Newton insisted that he didn't know about Penosi's ties. He told a newspaper in 2000: "I'm an Indian boy from Virginia. What do I know about the Mafia?"

Steve Wynn

Over the years, this billionaire Vegas hotelier is said to have had connections to Genoveses, among other crime families. In 1986, Wynn got into heat with authorities over his Atlantic City hotel. Investigators discovered that Wynn's friend, mobster Tony Castelbuono, had been laundering the profits from his heroin-trafficking business through Wynn's casino. The scandal almost cost Wynn his gambling license.

Tony Bennett

This crooner is supposedly connected to the Bonanno family. He also had an alleged run-in with a notorious mob hit-man in the 70s. Bennett was confronted by Tony Spilotro for messing with his girl. Spilotro is said to have angrily slammed Bennett's head on a telephone book, which got the singer to "turn his life around."

Debbie Reynolds

According to MafiaInformation.com, this veteran actress has ties to crime families in Chicago. Debbie Reynolds is a long time Vegas fixture. She was once asked if people should be worried about getting killed in Las Vegas, and she said, "Yeah, but only those who need killing."

Re: Celebs and OC - 03/26/15 06:17 AM

James Caan

This actor, who has often played mafiosos himself, has ties to the Colombos. In 2011, "Andy Mush" Russo was arrested with 125 other alleged mafiosos across New York and New Jersey. James Caan publicly defended Russo and offered to pay his bail. Russo is the godfather of Caan's son, Scott.

Liza Minnelli

This gay icon has been linked to the Gambino family. Liza Minnelli is said to have dated actor and former low-level mobster Gianni Russo. Russo acted in The Godfather, but he also served as the intermediary between Paramount Studios and New York Mafia don Joe Colombo, Sr

Joey Bishop

This Rat Packer has been tied to mafiosos through his connection with Frank Sinatra. He associated with gangsters in Las Vegas, even jibbing his old friend about the Rat Pack's connections to the mob in public. He once said: "Mr. Sinatra will now speak of some of the good things the Mafia has done."

Al Pacino

According to MafiaInformation.com, Michael Corleone himself has been linked to the Genoveses – though more thorough connections are harder to find. Maybe Al Pacino's award-winning performances have tricked people into thinking he was the real deal.

Burgess Meredith

The actor, who played Batman's nemesis the Penguin, is said to have had links to the Luccheses. It was at a time in history when most celebrities rubbed shoulders with mobsters, but there are no reports of any serious crimes connected to Meredith.

Robert De Niro has alleged ties to the Gambino family. To prepare for his role in Analyze This, De Niro spent time with mobster Anthony "Fat Andy" Ruggiano. De Niro got into Fat Andy's mind to play the neurotic mobster in the 1999 film.

Joe DiMaggio

This baseball legend has been linked to the Gambinos. According to some conspiracy theorists, Joe DiMaggio paid the mafia to have John F. Kennedy whacked for his affair with Marilyn Monroe (though that seems pretty unlikely).

Robert Evans

This veteran film producer has ties to mafiosos in Chicago. He is also said to have gotten his job at Paramount with the help of Sidney Korshack, a lawyer who helped mobsters invest in legitimate businesses.

Joe Pesci

The Goodfellas star has ties to the Genoveses. It is also alleged that in 1982, fellow actor James Caan hired mobsters to rough up Joe Pesci over an $8,000 Miami hotel bill. They've made up since then.

Tito Puente

According to MafiaInformation.com, this Latin Jazz icon has ties to the Genoveses. More details are hard to come by, but Tito Puente's fame came at a time when many performers worked at clubs owned by mobsters.

I've posted a lot about Dente and Pesci over the years, Bronx. But being that Joe D is long dead, and Joe Junior is enjoying life up in the Catskills (good for him), I'll add just a little bit.

Anyway, that asshole Frank Vincent wanted to be a wiseguy in the worst way. They chased him out of Jersey for awhile for one reason or another. Pesci got Joe D to sit down for him, and, the way I heard it, he pretty much saved his life.

So whenever you see Vincent acting like a real wiseguy on some retarded Youtube interview like that Vinny Vella nonsense, keep in mind that he's half a rat and probably would have gotten popped years ago if Pesci didn't intervene for him.

And Pesci was actually ON RECORD with Joe D. It wasn't just a matter of a celebrity and a wiseguy using each other (which used to happen all the time).

Yeah, his brother was tight with Cabert and Jimmy P, right? wink

But it was Dente who bailed Frank Vincent out. He claimed him to protect him, then cut him loose afterwards. And by that time it had all blown over anyway.

Big snitch. He even ratted out Allie Boy. And now he's back to living the good life on Ocean Drive. He's the food and beverage manager at the Delano (the hotel with the richest clientele in the entire world). He's living under his own name in a resort that only employs ex-law enforcement for security. Not that they're looking for this mutt anyway. He's too high profile. If they hit him, the Feds will make them wish they were never born. Piece of shit that he is.

I don't hate on D'Arco. But that was bullshit. Because a) Burt was VERY close friends with Vinny DiNapoli. They were partners at the old Il Boschetto on Gun Hill Road. And as a Genovese captain, Vinny threw twice the weight that D'Arco did as a Lucchese acting boss. So why go around a heavyweight (and a class act) like Vinny?

b) Burt is, until this day, VERY close friends with Stevie, who is, you know, the guy who actually runs the Luccheses today.

c) He got into acting to get off the street. And during the lean years, he resisted all temptation to jump back in, even when he was broke.

That whole story was just filler in that midget's book. He had no right mentioning a guy like Burt, who actually bettered himself by walking away from life as a money collector. Trust me on that.

The Colombos never had anything going in the Bronx, so my knowledge there is somewhat limited. But Scars got pretty tight with Richie Fusco through Greg DePalma. When Greg had the club on Boston Road, the three of them were in there together quite a bit.

Richie Fusco was a class act. Scars is a mutt, and not just because he's a rat. There was something "off" about him even before he flipped.

Re: Celebs and OC - 10/11/15 05:03 PM

New(ish) article.

http://www.pastemagazine.com/articles/20...ime-ti.html?p=2

Quote:
Only the most studious Sopranos viewers will recognize Michael “Big Mike” Squicciarini, who briefly played low-level enforcer “Big Frank” Cippolina in the show’s second season. The 6-foot-5, 305-pound actor, who died of natural causes in 2001, was determined to hit it big on the HBO mob drama: “Just give me one year on that show—give me nine or 10 episodes—and I’ll be a household name,” Squicciarini, also known as “Scuch,” told the New York Observer. But Scuch, a former debt collector for the DeCavalcante family—the New Jersey mob crew upon which The Sopranos’ DiMeo family is loosely based—who had spent years in prison behind multiple aggravated assault charges, also had a back-up plan, one that would prove deadly. “Let me put it this way,” Squicciarini told the Observer. “If the movie business doesn’t work out, I always got something to fall back on. I got my mask and gun at home.” True to his word, Squicciarini never quite put his mobster past behind him.

In 2002, the actor was posthumously implicated in a cold-blooded gangland execution that had taken place 10 years prior. According to documents filed by Manhattan District Attorney John Hillebrecht (via The Guardian), Squicciarini and others lured a rival drug dealer named Ralph Hernandez into a Brooklyn nightclub owned by DeCavalcante capo Joseph “Joe Pitts” Conigliaro. Conigliaro, who was wheelchair-bound due to a paralyzing wound sustained in a prior shootout, pulled a piece on Hernandez and shot him in the forehead. The capo was then wheeled over to the dying drug dealer, whom he shot thrice more in the head. Conigliaro’s henchmen rolled Hernandez’s body up in a carpet, dumped it in an abandoned lot nearby and returned to clean the blood-stained nightclub floor. One of these men was likely Squicciarini, though his exact role in the killing is uncertain. Scuch was linked to the crime by sources who knew his nickname, and was ultimately implicated by witnesses who, in an absurd twist of fate, recognized him in a Sopranos clips shown to them by investigators. Bada bing!

According to the Donnie Brasco book, Mirra was gangbanging a celebrity. I don't recall if he specifically said her name, but it's been years since I read that book. I was left with the impression that it was Goldie, a hippie drug user.

Pacillo was/is a scumbag/rat who was indeed banging Sophia Vergara and possibly Madonna. When in California, he appears to have been banging Lindsey Lohan. It's been a while since I read the book and my senior mind forgets facts sometimes.
