I usually just go to the Borgata which if you just stay in there you think its vegas, thing that makes Biloxi and Vegas difefrent are the deals the airlines and hotels have going to those places, there are no deals going to AC..... really poor foresight and planning by state officals has ruined AC, they could have set up commercially only zoning around the boardwalk and made it a tourist trap but, now its a war zone near the boardwalk...caesars is cool but a ghost town during the week....tons of money during its peak and that brought out all the political crooks

Yeah, I am a strictly Borgata guy these days myself. Although, I must say The Golden Nugget is really decent and surprised me but its just too small for me.

That whole little stretch of land should have been stores hotels and casinos they should have just bulldozed all the houses. Yaehthey screwdd that town up from the get go. You wonder how much money Bruno made in them years he was boss. He went on TV and bold faced lied he had nothing to do with the casinos. What colleges are down there? That would be cool dorms in a recently built casino. I seen some picks of the parties there.

They was gonna put a slot parlor down the street from me the picturloomed like a Walmart casino it would have been a disaster. Hookers and crack homeless. City hall nixed. Wait to they open the mgm in downtown Springfield that's gonna be nuts. Philly posters who the casinos there classy? Foxwoods and moghegen are the best just in the middle of nowhere.

If they didn't kill capo al Bruno that Springfield crew would be making the bosses big money. Nigro made a bad call on that.

Atlantic City was made just for gamblers whereas Vegas is a tourist destination where you can go and not even gamble.
Now that there is gambling in other places, AC has lost almost all its business.
As some of you said, they should of demolished everything and made it one large hotel/ casino area.
Where they really dropped the ball is the beaches, they are horrible. That was the one edge AC had; a beach. Who wants to lay out on those dirty looking beaches! Not me.
I was there last month and was literally a ghost town, i am not kidding, it was really sad. The Marina is the only significant area( bargata/ harrahs).

The sugarhouse is cool it is small you just gotta be careful around there lots of shady people in not sure if they are all gambling or looking to roll someone, I like Parxx casino in bensalem it has card room and full casino same as the one in chester near the airport both those have ractracks too that is pretty nice too, sugarhouse is right near all the hotels and downtown philly on the water

What's the difference?

Revel TARGETED college-aged and twenty-something hipsters. They did the exact OPPOSITE of the successful casino/hotel model that's been working for more than fifty years. You're supposed to feed your suckers on one end (with comps, etc.), and bleed them on the other (the gaming tables).

Those idiots tried to make the place a hangout for the young FIRST, thinking that it would carry over into the casino. Fucking idiots. They deserved to go belly up, and I don't wish unemployment on anyone. It's just that they should have left it to people who know what the fuck they're doing.

Long story short, a busy hotel doesn't mean shit. You can't make it in that business without real players. No way, no how.

PB right on, I never understood the lack of comps in AC, I am by far not a big gambler but, give me the free rooms, etc, and I come back and they make way more off of me...oh well, and the REVEL, was so nice but...target people who are drinking and not gambling and the lights go out

And for starters they had a local guy for mayor for 5 terms seamed like, and the locals put him there and he sucked .Did not know the bizz and the state and others ate him up ,with his lack of skills.

And the locals that put him there did it for one reason only.

I don't know what's going on with the property, Serp. That's your neck of the woods. I was just explaining why Revel failed.

Parole eligible 25 years from the date of his arrest. Long way to go. Looks like he stood up, though. A lot of people on these boards thought he wouldn't.
