sometime in the 90tys the state police had a log cabin wired for sound out there they had the whole springfield crew which was big back then meeting a nother Genovese crew maybe the up state new York crew. it was like 15 20 guys. remember reading about it don't thing anything came from it but some gambling shit. there hasn't been a gambling bust in mass in a while. Berkshire are rich and gorgeous went hiking and site seeing last year. lot of hipster hippies. its on the ny mass border.

Years ago Pittsfield functioned as a conduit between White Plains and Springfield for the Westside. Fat Tony lived in Rhinebeck nearly full time towards the end of his run. Half hour to the Mass. border. He encouraged most of his closest friends to buy property in Columbia County. And most of them did.

Here is the Giovanni Trotta article from 2003. He was connected to Springfield for sure, gambling and money laundering, maybe just a bookie.

Berkshires are nice. Bunch of resorts towns. I was there around Labor Day, beautiful weather.

I remember we used to go the Catskills as a kid. Big Irish thing. I heard it is dead now though. Haven't been in probably 15 years. Have no urge to go back, either...

Big Jewish thing LONG before that. They weren't nicknamed The Jewish Alps and The Borscht Belt for nothing. Nearly every big mid 20th century Jewish comedian cut his teeth in the Catskills.

When I was 15 I worked busing tables at the Kutshers. My dads friend ran the card games there and got me the summer job and I stayed with another one of his friends who was a bartender in NY but had a place in Monticello for the summers. Needless to say the employees were the only Gentiles around. It was a great summer. NY Italian guys ran the card games for the NY Jewish guys

Lol, the Jewish Alps. That's classic.

I was just speaking from my experience. And I was a little kid, so I wouldn't have known a Jew from an Albanian back then.

I was there in the fall. Bed and breakfast. Long weekend. Good time. Small town feel. Hardware store, diner. Yadda yadda yadda.
