Mafia mansions - 02/26/15 01:23 PM

Are there any notable mafia mansions that are just massively huge? I know Castellano's was huge obviously as well as Casso's but who else?

This is the mansion of Walter Schiavone, boss of the casalesi (Camorra Naples), Scaface style. He is a fan of Scarface.

It was like a 3 or 4 bedroom 3 bath but it was on the water and could hold a 50 ft yacht.
He never lived beyond his means ,he did not like to shine .The man always dressed and drove a car that he could afford.Back in the late 60's he had a Chevy Impala, then a Caddy's then a R/R as he moved up.
Then when he became Boss he was out of his mind with power.

Re: Mafia mansions - 02/27/15 04:51 PM

The guys that had the Big Big houses were the associates that they extorted' cos most had big businesses that they could prove to the IRS that they paid for with good money.
The gangsters really did not live in big homes, look at Nino from the Gambinos he made big money and lived in a row home.
Now the Persico's Lil Allie boy had a nice house in BK and upstate his uncle Allie boy had a row home but had a monster on the farm upstate,Carmine had row home and a monster in BK and a big mansion on the farm upstate.Teddy his brother had a modest house on Long Island but has a nice house on the farm.
Michael has it all ! !

Re: Mafia mansions - 02/27/15 07:53 PM

There's a picture of persicos mansion in bk the thing is sweet. The front yard is big can't see the back. But with land prices in bk that thing must be worth a couple mill. Colombo's were the smallest but they had a lot of millionaires. Read some where bill cutolo owned a small hotel in bk was his office it would be worth $$$$million today. Back in the 90tys.

Re: Mafia mansions - 02/27/15 07:58 PM

Thats why I love reading about Nino, he was an old-school tough guy, Cosa Nostra to the bone. Kept things low-key, lived in his old row house which Montiglio dubbed "the bunker."
The guy wasn't afraid getting into a shootout with a cop even as a capo in his 50s... he would have never gone down if it wasn't for his nephew. If not your crew, then it's your blood that does you in, because you don't expect it from them. Ask Nicky Scarfo.

He's not LCN, or even Italian (although oddly enough, his name ends in a vowel). But this is the mansion of the biggest crook in America today.

That seems kind of contrary to what everyone else says about him. They said that he liked to spend and be flashy. Even crow and delgiorno said that i think but he def was no gotti or anything.

Not for nothing can you buy a mansion in Vegas for like 100grand there's nothing but casinos and dessert. Like every house out there is huge. ya serp the mansion with the fucking castle towers looks like movie shit. Guess being the boss for the last 30+years even in jail pays. The brother Theodore been out for couple years probably of restriction bet he gets forced out of retirement for the family. He did almost 20 strait.

Being a made guy this day and age just doesnt even make sense if you have to do all that time. Might as well just be better off making 35k or more at a construction job because that seems its the only playing field for ex cons to work. As well as sanitation and maybe real estate (unsure bout that one). Back before rico is was so legit to be a gangster then the 80s rolled around..

I said today. The same picture would have been applied no matter who or when the President was in office.

After he moved up yes, before that not even close. When he became boss yes he went out of his mind with shit. But everything in A.C. stayed like it was in the 70's.
He only had his R/R on georgia ave. once I think,he had the same black Caddy for ever.
He looked like Beeps did back in the day .The Crow may have said he was a neat freak or a clean freak cos he was that...

You may be misunderstanding me, the guy after he got money he dressed better and better and took care of himself. But he was far far from a Gotti or a Castellano. All you have to do is look at where he lived before he became boss. Not saying he was not clean or anything like that.He went out he dressed the part.

Cronyism is a problem in all administrations but besides that, look at Wall street when Obama took office and now, who gave them all that money?

This should probably be in a different thread though.

Re: Mafia mansions - 02/28/15 12:46 AM

I've been trying to find Migliore's house. Also, I'm sure that many people in the Camorra, 'Ndrangheta and sicilian mafia have mansions that are probably even bigger than the one in that link. And that's saying something because that house looks huge. Doesn't seem like it's maintained too well though.

Based on an article I read, the 'Ndrangheta made more money one year than Wal Mart and the Deutsche Bank combined. I think it was in 2013.

60 billion USD apparently if you take them as a collective unit. They're serious players in the European drug trade. They were also largely left unchecked throughout the 80s and 90s when the Italian state went after Cosa Nostra, the result of which has led to their rapid growth in wealth and power.

Somehow I doubt that..Just because its on the internet doesn't mean its true. How would they even be able to find out an exact number like that anyways?

It's based on drug seizures, money seizures, property worth of said mobsters. Construction contracting revenue, etc...

Garbage scams are the Camorra's speciality, they hold sway over the unions. N'drangheta made a large amount through scaming the EU local commerce foundation. They had a scam to grow fruit in Calabria. They grew nothing but still collected the big check from Brussels every month.

Their top bosses are probably among the richest men in the world if indeed they are making something in that ballpark a year. Insane amount of money. And they made so much money from garbage, who would've thought?

Definitely. I watched a documentary on them, and they taxed a this huge port for every container they had. They had 2 million containers. In this same port, they were shipping coke from Columbia in the containers. The police seized one conatiner with all these kilos, and it was worth 135 million euros. They said it's just a drop in the bucket of what they ship through the port.

Re: Mafia mansions - 03/01/15 03:31 PM

Well then its crazy how much coke people are doing then being this is just a fraction of a fraction of several traffickers

Yeah, those are the guys. The guy with car museum over on my side of Florida? It was his lawyer who initiated the contact. It's possible that Mister S wasn't even involved in the decision. You know how these lawyers are rolleyes.
