Whacked is a real word, it's in the dictionary. It means to hit or smack something hard. So I could see why mobsters would use the word to describe killing.

Seems like a thread created out of boredom, but it's a legit question. Back in the old days of the classic gangsters, you have terms like:

Rubbed Out
Bumped Off
Knocked Off
maybe even Burned

But when did Whack come in? I'm gonna guess the 60's or 70's.

When and where did the tern "whacked" come from?

Well, when a man likes a woman very much, but he's butt ugly with no personality, he sometimes takes matters into his own hands.

The term probably originated when the first cave lady claimed to have a headache.

Its much better than saying " kill" which means only one thing. Whereas the words whack and clip can be defensible in a court of law.
" when i said whack em, i meant smack em".

You guys are funny. I think you guys think you are on the Whack Off thread. I personally like the phrase "Outta Whack" much more than just "whack" itself.

Obviously by posting on a website dedicated MOSTLY to mafia related topics, I meant "whacked" as in killed.
