Philly Mob trial transcripts - 01/07/15 10:43 PM

If anyone was interested, the sentencing memos are great. Full of details, transcripts, etc on the operation. Of course the government is essentially throwing everything at the wall to see what sticks, as the judge only has to make finding based on the preponderance of the evidence.

Re: Philly Mob trial transcripts - 01/09/15 10:53 PM

Its a miricle uncle Joe didn't get convicted of anything. He's on wires. 5000 loan 150 big a week. A guy could buy couple ounces of blow and pay them back quick. Mousie should have plead out. They had so much dirt on him. Uncle Joe had them 40 joker pokers machines making him 5k a week for 10years that not bad. Plus all his other rackets he did good for himself

Re: Philly Mob trial transcripts - 01/09/15 10:56 PM

The guys he took the machines were willing to pay tribute but he wanted it all. This guy in Boston just got indicted cause he was taking tribute. Them machines are still around. My old dirty bar would give you a bar tab and credit no money.

Ligambi wasn't actually caught on tape incriminating himself so it's not exactly a miracle and as for them figures you mentioned for the poker machines, where does it state he made that much?

I never seen any reports that stated what his take was, but i did read that he had 50 to 60 machines in and around the Philly area. So for an example, if each machine is making anywhere from $500-$1,000 a week that's 2-3 million a year.....*Obviously it's not all profit* ...Still, were talking some BIG numbers with little to no overhead. That being said, i don't think that figure is too far off for Ligambi's cut out of the pie.

Re: Philly Mob trial transcripts - 01/10/15 01:03 PM

Philly was making quite a bit on the video poker. Somewhere in the range between 1-3 million gross.

However, the court documents did reveal how pathetic "loansharking" has become in philly. The loan were very small- often smaller than a 1000 dollars. In fact, the customer that flipped on Damon flipped over a 500 dollar loan at 3 points (your average payday loan or credit card company charges more than that). Instead of the customer being the victim, it looks like often the loan sharks are in modern philly. These guys that take out money just get sick of paying tiny amounts and flip.

Re: Philly Mob trial transcripts - 01/10/15 01:19 PM

It's a never ending Vicious Circle with these guys.

Nicky, if it's not too much trouble, i was wondering if you can you pull a case on Anthony "Big Tony" Errante. He was busted for loansharking with John (Johnny Green) Faraci & Anthony (Tony Buck) Geraci back in in 2000 or 2001. Thanks

Re: Philly Mob trial transcripts - 01/10/15 02:45 PM

Seems like the sentencing documents are no longer available. This is how the case ended:

Re: Philly Mob trial transcripts - 01/10/15 03:27 PM

I just guessing the 42 machines they took from them guys in 2001 must have made at least 100$ profit a week. And I'm guessing they had a lot more machines then just these guys. There other places the could get them.

Some great bits:

LICATA tells the
Gambino members that the Philadelphia LCN Family always had a crew in North Jersey and
Trenton going back to the time of Angelo Bruno. LICATA explains that he is now the
caporegime of this crew, is content with that, and has no aspirations to be anything more
(consigliere, underboss or boss): “I don't want no… Caporegime - I'm happy with that. That's it.
I don't want no… that belongs to them. I'll help them up here.” The transcript of this segment of
the May 19, 2010 recording is attached as “Exhibit A.”

LICATA’s statements during this part of the conversation clearly show that
FAZZINI has an elevated role in the North Jersey crew above other “made” members in the same
crew. FAZZINI serves as LICATA’s second-in-command in conducting the important affairs of
the North Jersey crew on behalf of the Philadelphia LCN Family. In LICATA’s absence,
FAZZINI is authorized to act for LICATA and to function independently in making decisions
about the manners and means in which communications between the New York LCN families
and the Philadelphia LCN Family are allowed to occur.
wow
During the Stefanelli consensual recording of October 21, 2010, LICATA tells
Stefanelli that he’s thinking about proposing Vito Malgeri who is an associate of Vincent
“Beeps” Centorino, a made member of the North Jersey crew, but he doesn’t know him quite
well enough. He proposes to take away Malgeri from Centorino and put him under FAZZINI for
a while to see how ready he is to become a “made” member. FAZZINI states: “But I don’t know
yet with him.”

Re: Philly Mob trial transcripts - 01/11/15 02:37 AM

Fazzini should have gone to trial. They had the same case against him as against Licata. Which is to say, no case.

Re: Philly Mob trial transcripts - 01/13/15 11:00 AM

Some of the information in these transcripts are wrong. In Massimino's it mentions Robert Carrozza as boss of the patriarcha family and fails to even mention that although he was part of a renegade faction, he was never official boss.
