I have a question since you can't bet in Jersey on any Pro or College teams from Jersey does that mean you can't bet on the Jets or the Giants or do they get a pass cause they just play in Jersey?

No. Up until now ALL forms of sports betting were illegal in New Jersey.

I thought Delaware was the only place in the tri-state area before this that had some form of sports betting, but wasn't it just like teasers or parlays?I mean you couldn't really go there and say ''give me a dime on the Giants minus 7 could you.?

Yeah, it was some kind of prop bet/lottery type thing down in Delaware. But to be honest, I couldn't tell you the particulars.

You can do the parlay/teaser cards in deleware. That's it.

Sucker bets essentially. Why could I bet $50 every 2 mins betting blackjack but I can't throw $500 on a Yankee game that will keep me interested for 3 hours?

Bookmakers will always be in business for 2 main reasons. You can sit on the couch and place a bet and not have to sit at a racetrack and wait till the end. Most important if u put a dime down w a book u don't have to go to the bank and take the $ out before u bet the game. And u don't have to pay taxes if u crush it. That's 3 oh well

I'll believe this move by Christie permanently remains when I see it. But even if it does, it's at one racetrack in Monmouth County right? Hardly a significant threat to the mob's illegal sports betting operations. Not exactly the equivalent of how the legal state lotto really cut into the illegal numbers racket.

Absolutely...you don't have to put anything up front...That said, my betting ''dime'' bet days are over...You're only young and stupid once in your lifetime !!

I wasted a lot of money over the years...Shameful !!!

I remember my father always preaching to me that bookmakers don't drive lincolns because players are winning, casino's don't have those fancy hotels because players are winning etc...

Listen to the wise old men who've been there !!!
