You have 2 guys to whack, they r smart and are muscling in on your rackets. What guy from each era would u send to whack them . 20-30s 40s-50s 60s-70s and 80s to the present ?????

Eppolito and Caracappa, policemen are harder to link to the hits, they can pretend they were on duty if caught near the crime scene. Even though they were eventually convicted, it took a long time and many resources.

youre guys are no good, ones a stoolie, and the others are all so demented that they woulnt cover their tracks, you want hitmen who you know wont leave a mess, and never leave a clue. it took along time to catch klukinski, he was a big braggart but, the guy was a good mechanic. also, carmine galente, and that little punk from Chicago marshal caifano, neither one ever got made on a murder.

Almost anyone could get the job done, but who could you trust to not turn around and try and whack you.

I think I have to go with Murder Inc. That's because those killers were not chauffeurs or bodyguards or what have you. They were like an outsourced hit team that didn't even know who the orders were coming down from. Not safe to use them either, but probably safer than all the rest.

Any other type of hitman has to be rewarded with a promotion for the hit, which in turn makes him more powerful, and more dangerous to yourself.

But That Salvie testa was a problem!!! and he was young ... Mid twenties I would say... Prolly caught his first body when he was 20 or 21. This is a guy who was in every position of a hit contract as The hitter, the set up guy, clean up... You name it and he knew all the signs of being set up because he was the set up guy and he knew how to gain your trust and make you feel comfortable And that made him even more dangerous because he'll end up whacking you out. Dom cataldo- another Colombo powerhouse. I know he died of cancer at a young age but I wonder if he lived would he have been taken out by the persicos cuz it seems all their big earners: hitters were held down out of suspicion of too much power. To hit Gerry pappa is a big time hit and if u believe polisi which i do in this case dom cataldo was smart ruthless but like a lot of his contemporaries paranoid Wonder whose side he would of been on in the 3rd Colombo war

Yeah, I should have qualified my response by adding that it could be the "Old" Rampino before he became a junkie. Also on Mirra you would have to revive him from the dead. In the several books I've read regarding him, I don't recall him being a rat.

The LCN in New York would probably never use him (because he was from Detroit and worked almost exclusively in heroin-related crime circles) but there was a Detroit hitman called Chester Wheeler Campbell, an interesting and seriously creepy guy.

Most of his life was behind bars, but he was a fascinating character to study.

Campbell kept extensive hand-written notebooks on everything crime-related in Detroit and surrounding areas, as the Police discovered.

There's a book about him (I haven't read it yet) but I'd love to see his original notes.

I lived in Detroit for a while. I'll probably move back there. It's dangerous, but I like it a lot.

Unlike many other cities with a large African American population, Detroit's street thugs aren't really built around organized 'gang' structures - it's much looser and disorganized amongst the younger Detroit criminals.

Outside of DeMeo and/or his crew, I'd go with Salvatore Testa, Jimmy Burke, and John Franzese(in prime). Prolific killers and smart for the most part. Testa could have went to war against Philly by himself. Henry Hill said Burke whacked over 3 dozen guys and Franzese has killed at least 30.

Other than the Gemini crew, I'd use Tommy Pitera or Gerard Pappa, they were both great hitmen. Charles Carneglia was pretty crazy and good at making people disappear. Frank the German Schweiss apparently was insane too.

I might be repeating myself, but I still think crooked cops are the best hitmen because it takes a lot of effort to prove they were the killers and not on duty even if caught near the crime scene, and other cops are reluctant to testify against them, the police has its "omerta'" too in many cases.

yea while one could do a hit loud and probably liked it that way. the other could do it quiet dispose of the body. i'm sure they both could of disposed of the body but i think they'd make a good team in general.
