Lucchese's Brownsville crew still active ? - 07/10/14 05:10 AM

I dont't trust wiki and it seems to be a black neighborhood under influence of bloods today plus Cutaia suffering from Alzheimer.

It's an active crew, but "in name only." Kinda like the 116th Street Westside crew. They're active as shit, but they haven't actually occupied East Harlem in twenty years.

As far as the Brownsville crew, I've read that Joey Lubrano is the skipper. But that's not what I've actually heard wink.

Thanks Pizza, yeah that's what I thought. Do you know the actual area where they operate ? still in Brooklyn ?

I found an interesting post.

Giacomo Vacari is a good researcher. But Lubrano won't be the skipper when he gets out, and the Bronx/Harlem guys who have control of the family today only took him on as a favor to one of their own. Now that there are a few Brooklyn guys back on the street, it will go back to one of them as kind of an olive branch.

But like I said, they're not in Brownsville anymore anyway. The last Italian guy to set foot in Brownsville was delivering a fucking pizza.

I mean, isn't that pretty par for the course now a days? In this modern era where just as many potential customers/ victims live in Westchester and Jersey as they do in the boroughs aren't most of the crews kind of like that? Not PHYSICALLY in the "old neighborhood" anymore: and I mean that's okay for them. Holding a neighborhood's "turf" seems a little beneath LCN, doesn't it?

I'm gonna go out on ledge here but I'm thinking the bkyn guys that just got out take up there old spots I can't see anyone trying to deliberately piss them off. I'm thinking Danny Cutaia's stays the way it is and if his condition worsens it goes to John Baudanza. John gets released in a year and he is from the Canarsie area and closer to Danny obviously.

For those who know, do you guys think gentrification of black areas in NYC will prompt some of these crews to move back to neighborhoods like Brownsville and open up some legitimate, and obviously illegitimate, businesses?

I think the type of white people that gentrification attracts is not the type of white people who like to place wagers, borrow money, etc.

Re: Lucchese's Brownsville crew still active ? - 07/11/14 05:34 PM

Yeah, that's true, but a lot of money moves in. And a lot of public/private money seems to move in, too. Government money for infrastructure and private construction, for example.

Exactly. Wiseguys don't like Yuppies any more than they like Blacks. And generally speaking, they really don't like Blacks. These guys ain't exactly bastions of liberalism wink.

Re: Lucchese's Brownsville crew still active ? - 07/11/14 05:37 PM

These guys have construction companies and whatnot, right? None of these guys are building apartment complexes, or at least getting slightly involved?

I find it hard to imagine gentrification in a poor, black area isn't at better than the status quo for some of these guys. But, I'm completely guessing.

I've been telling guys on here about Lubrano for a while (based on you're information) but they won't have it, they think he's a rising star because of his age.

From what I can tell the BK faction has been slimmed down to 2 big crews, Big John skippers one and Cutaia is pretty much retired, one of the recent BK guys to be released will take that crew once there off parole.

Oh, I see. So I guess anyone who's 40 years old, does a couple of years, and gets his name in the papers is considered a rising star on these forums.

The truth is, I shouldn't be posting half this shit. It falls on deaf ears, anyway. I understand that mob geeks in other countries with Paulie Walnuts posters on their walls are much more qualified to tell you about these things than a guy who's been here for 55 years and grew up with half these mutts. But I'll stop now. I'm just about done here, anyway.

Keep in touch though, Tommy smile.

I posted that months ago. I figured that the bronx's favor was to put Joey Lubrano as acting Capo, then there was talk of him being tapped for that position officially. Of couse that is not the case. Michael Corcione and Carlo Profeta were both acting capo's of that crew but I had felt them to be weak and not to connected to the Bronx and Manhattan. Both George's are out, but will one of them take over that crew instead of having a different crew in Brooklyn. The one that has me thinking about is that John Baudanza will be getting out in 2015, a good earner maybe he does or maybe he does not become Capo. Also James Galione gets out around christmas time in 2015, no chance of him becoming a skipper, but it has be a nice feeling to be getting out as a christmas present for someone. I can not see Domenico's son being the capo of that crew.

A different line of thought. What if Crea makes Zappola his Underboss. Now that would be something to think about, crazy move, but one that offers an olive branch with everyone happy. Then Conte will defiently become a Capo. I highly doubt that the Lucchese will not rock the boat with how much money they are making and bring LE heat on them.

There's a better chance of the Tooth Fairy and Santa Claus making a baby in your backyard tonight.

Of course, it's easy to look at from a distance and think it's a good idea. And on paper it might be. But there's a difference between an olive branch and showing weakness. Besides, he hates him something awful.

crews ain't what they were even 10 years ago, big John runs Frankie bones crew georgie Conti will likely take that until bones gets out next year and georgie Conti will take Jimmy G Mario gallo and a few stranglers. I can't say what plans the neck has crew wise.

Re: Lucchese's Brownsville crew still active ? - 07/12/14 12:23 AM

I'm in Brownsville, East New York and Canarsie a lot for work & other reasons and 1) there is zero 'gentrification' of the kind people are thinking of, though West Indians, Bangladeshis (in City Line section of ENY), and Africans (much fewer in #) are far more entrepeneurial than American blacks so the area is neither static nor decaying. (I don't consider the fucking strip malls off the Belt 'gentrification') 2) there's still a goodly amount of industrial stuff there + also Brooklyn terminal market + auto repair/scrap etc...

Which is to say there are definitely 'crew' opportunities though who does what-- other than the low-level violent drug markets with disposable gang kids etc-- is open to speculation.

I could see that. There's no doubt shits gonna change and I don't think any wise skipper on the street would have a problem with that. Nobody wants beef especially when their making money. That might be the only thing to keep those bklyn boys quiet

That's what's there. You're right about the opportunities, but there hasn't been an Italian crew operating IN Brownsville in years.

Like I said, it was just a thought. I don't get the feeling that Steve is just going to put all that under a bridge and forget about it. There is a strong chance that both Georges will be killed, but I don't think Crea will go that far unless he has to. Everyone is making money in that family.

That's what I've been saying all along. But time will tell. It's probably best to leave it at that.

that is a pretty bad ass crew of serial killers. must be hard for crea not be active with them theres probsly 15 or so guys wonder if there all in the same crew, which would diffently rival the nj crew. there all leftovers and killers from vic, gaspipe, an lil al days. maybe that guy camine avillino had them all. but then again I thought theres aton of luchese long island guys. guess your doing agood job when capeci doenst know who your underboss and consign are. shit been 10yrs since we new who the Genovese boss is. don't care what if 3 maybe 4 of the families have official bosses the westside must have one to. it would be a insult to chin if he didn't replace his tittle when he died.
