Some Rare Outfit Photos, c. late 1980's

These are from the Chicago Crime Commission's 1990 report on the Outfit and its associates. I have not changed anything from the source material so if you see something that is labeled inaccurately, it is not me. This is done to show what the law knew about the organizational structure of the Outfit at that time period. Many of these pictures are rare and have not been previously posted, at least to my knowledge.

I believe I read that Cortina and Don Angelini were the gambling experts? Several articles indicated that Angelini was a really nice guy who did not get involved in the "heavy work." FBI agents said basically the same, stating they really hated to arrest him because he was so nice.

So the labels are from the CCC report? Wow second group of postings is great. Btw LaValley was clipped on the East Coast a few years back. The second grouping I've definitely never seen.

The only source I have ever seen of LaValley's death was Fosco. Not saying that I don't believe him but I just wanted to use statements that can be sourced.

Additionally, many of these guys may be retired because of age. The Outfit doesn't throw parties for them when that happens so it's tough to say who is and who isn't active.

Vince "Jimmy Boy" Cozzo was Grand Ave interim boss during the years Lombardo was gone until 2007 when he passed. Truth is the Grand Avenue crew hasn't had any real leadership since Lombardo went on the lam.

Its interesting...in the relatively recent podcast Fosco had with Herion, he tells a story of chasing down Lombardo after raiding a card game a Vince Cozzo's place near Grand and Ogden...amazing that the compound is still there and still in the hands of the family.

He wasn't listed by the CCC in 1990, which is where I got the list from. I don't believe he was "known" until he got busted with the Melrose Park crew in '92.
