Boss of Bosses book - 04/23/14 02:14 AM
Does anyone have any insight to who the source referred to as "G" is? He was the one who tipped the FBI to the Commission meeting that was documented in the book. The book implied that it had to be someone high in the family who would have knowledge of this meeting. Any info would be appreciated or just wild speculation is always entertaining. My guess: Joe Gallo.

No, it''s not. And if you think Joe Gallo was a snitch you're out of your mind
.
Greg Scarpa Sr is who I have always thought as the one that tipped off the FBI on the commission meeting, do to Ralph Scotto always complaining about Paul Castellano wanting to meet on every little thing going on in the construction business. The fact that the source had to be someone in the Gambino family to know the exact location of the meeting, excludes Scarpa. I do not believe Joe N. Gallo was the tipster, but a capo in the family.

Relax, it was just a guess, no need to be a douchebag.
Is the book about Paul C a good read, or is it boring?

Very good book. It was ghostwritten by Laurence Shames, a fine writer.

I thought it was good, a little self-serving for authors. Not a lot of information on his early years. The bulk of the content is the events leading to the Commission Case/assasination.
OK thanks for the reviews of the book, it's not mainly a book about FBI agents bragging/congratulating themselves is it? I tried reading a book on Whitey B and the one book was mainly like that so I stopped reading it since there was very little if any actual biographical info about WB in the book and more about the FA instead.

I wouldn't go that far, I would have to guess it's 95% factual.
