"Don't be that guy"

"Don't be that guy" - 04/05/14 05:03 PM

Jobs and tasks no connected or made guy ever wants to find himself in...feel free to add any I missed.

They guy at the social club who sits by the door and says "This is a private club" when people walk in off the street. (It's always the family idiot)

The guy who digs holes (you know way too much if things go sour)

The guy who covers holes(See the guy who digs holes)

A cleaner (It's only a respected job in the movies, in real life it is sick, twisted and to do it well you have to be borderline psychotic)

A mob Doctor, lawyer or accountant (You usually end up here if you are a degenerate gambler and can't pay your debts)

A Driver (you can face RICO and 30 years or more for doing nothing more then giving someone a ride to work)

A Runner/Mule (all the risk, and these days no rewards)

The family Luca Brasi ( One you get labeled as to go to killer, you will never move up. There are exceptions like Sammy Gravano, but look where he ended up)

The Boss's go to Capo (This is like being promoted to "shift supervisor" , more responsibility, more risk, no more rewards)

The Sit Down Rook (The guys who off to one side when Bosses and Skippers talk something out, These are usually the most intimidating looking low level made guys, and you hear things no one at your level should

The front man (The guy with clan hands who fronts for the bosses or skippers 1099 ventures, you end up dead or as an unindicted co conspirator...See Glick and Dorfman)

Now why would I ever have a conversation with some mook who just called me a liar? Hummm?
Put it this way slick, I am tempted to say the immortal words Alex Rocco "I made my bones when you were going out with cheerleaders", But I am guessing the closest you ever got to a cheerleader was the water bucket......but since you have a deep interest in my life, I'm 55
You doubt me? so what? You're dots on a screen Corkey...the 5 or 6 people on this forum who know who I am in real life, find people like you amusing. Me? I just find you boring and irrelivant. You are now ignored... see ya.

Re: "Don't be that guy" - 04/06/14 07:30 AM

Seems like a reasonable list.

What's the difference between a cleaner and the guy that digs/covers holes?

I'm assuming you mean that the first is a profession and the second is a part time thing because you haven't the brains / guts to say no and you are usually just a hanger on?

Re: "Don't be that guy" - 04/06/14 08:45 AM

Speaking of how cleaners are portrayed in movies, here are two extremes: Winston Wolf in Pulp Fiction (respected) and Victor the Cleaner in Point of No Return (psycho)...both played by Harvey Keitel. He so rarely plays a normal guy and he's awesome at it.

These people are not stupid, and they don't need the harassment that you crazies seem to have the spare time in your lives to deal out, and they were not going to name me in an open forum, so they have communicated via PM. If you happen to live either in Upstate NY or the Chicago Area, and have some knowledge of these subjects can connect the dots, it's really not that big a mystery. My name and contact is all over the internet in relation to my current business ventures. Most I disclosed to if they got it right, one I didn't because frankly I don't trust them seeing their posts on here. One just last night engaged me in an open thread and I would appreciate it if you would leave them alone, as this person is an old fried from another forum in which I could speak more freely about my actual identity, and they are genuinely interested in meaningful topics on the subject. Hope this helps

A "cleaner" is a person who bleeds out and dismembers bodies, mops up blood and wipes down the area with acetone to counter the Fluorescein, packages everything on lime and makes the murder scene look nice and spiffy. It is a skill, but the guys who do this are not respected, they are looked upon as a necessary evil.

Holes, contrary to the movies and TV, in a pre planned hit, are dug in advance of the hit, and cleaners don't generally take the body to the hole, it is usually a separate function

Love Harvey Keitel...he makes you believe the role.
There is a TV show called "The black list" where the cleaner is a sweet old lady in her 70s...LOL..

Re: "Don't be that guy" - 04/06/14 09:05 AM

Ahhh, OK. I knew that digging a hole was best done before, I just didn't realise that someone other hit crew would do it.

As for the cleaner - I've seen Pulp Fiction but figured it was just Tarrentino (sp?) Pulp Fiction. It makes me wonder how someone gets into that line of work? Attention to detail, a strong stomach and batshit crazy, I guess. What would they earn a job? I figure it would be based on how good you are, but if you weren't good at it you wouldn't last long either, would you?

Here's the thing, I'm not trying to convince anyone of anything.
If you think I had time in my life to research and memorize to the ability to describe the events from the 60s to the 90s in upstate NY in the detail I have, and NO ONE has ever found even a minor inconsistency, error or lie right down to dates and places, you guys must think I'm a fucking genius, and if you do, who am I to argue with THAT?
LOL
So think what you like my friend.
You should read my posts though, a lot of people find them interesting and informative

A job like that would usually pay off a Vig for a few months.
The BEST cleaners of all time were the Westies.
These crazy Irish bastards had it down to a SCIENCE.
Kevin McElroy used to brag that when properly done, a body would be cut up in 16 pieces.
Coonan used to remind the guys who did the work to puncture the lungs and stomach if the torso if it was being disposed o9f in water, so it wouldn't float.
I had displeasure of meeting a couple of these psychos in person once, Kevin McCue and Kenny Shannon. Between the two of them they might have had 1000 working brain cells. It is possible Shannon was mildly retarded. They were two of the least intimidating guys I had ever seen, but these guys were awesome killers and the BEST at what they called "Doing the Houdini"(Disappearing someone) I was never so glad to leave a bar in my life.

Thanks. I've spent most of my life knocking around with low-level gangster wannabees (I'm not from the US so we have different rules). Never in the game but enough on the fringes that I've shaken hands with men that would scare Satan himself, and definitely had me wishing I was somewhere else. And more than a couple of them ended up as worm food. I know enough to know it's not a life I want to live so I appreciate you taking the time to answer my questions.

I love the outside looking in, but never enough to want to be in, so it's nice that you take the time to give me a glass window to look through and try and understand the truly hard men that I run across from time to time.

I was never made, never claimed to be.
I was a kid who was a good earner made it to mid level associate becuse of my family legacy, in a low level crew that had a shitstorm come down on us out of nowhere back in the late 70s and 80s.
Never claimed to be anything more.

No Problem
I am lucky in that I was able to back away keep an arms length distance after being a guest of the Federal prison system. Had I not stood up and refused to flip, and were not the son and nephew of made guys, that would not have been possible.
I keep communications open with old friends, and I am in a business where I brush up against Outfit and Rockford guys almost on a daily basis. Were it not for my background, this would not be possible either, so all in all, I have no regrets

But why talk about it online. Why do you feel you have let everyone no your a low level mob associate. This thread is total suspect. If you no what you are than that's all the matters. As soon as you feel you have to tell everyone is when I don't believe a word that comes out of your mouth.
It's like your trying to brag on the internet this thread would have been good until the lies started coming out.

Re: "Don't be that guy" - 04/06/14 10:07 AM

There is another guy "Not to be" and recently, I had no choice but to "be that guy"
The business I run is hospitality, entertainment, and travel and people pay for different levels of access. I was hopelessly short of help one night. So I get a call saying there was no one to take the door of one of the areas which required VIP access.
So I grumble and swear a little, throw on a track suit and new balance walking shoes (of all fucking things) and drive to Rosemont and sit my ass outside this door checking VIP passes.
A client and friend of mine, who is one of the coolest most stand up right women I have ever known, looks at me and bursts out laughing.
She says "You look like you just came from central casting to be in a really bad mob movie"..she was right..and it was freaking funny.
When you run the business, you gotta do what you gotta do

My friend, I have NEVER mentioned my background unless:
It was in the context of the subject
Or
When other people bring it up.
I just find it amazing that some of you are so befuddled that a guy like me who is half assed connected these days and did some time 30 years ago, mentions it on a Mob related site.
For Christ sake there is a private site (I used to help write for it) That has made guys who chime in from time to time.
Was I more travaled and more well know then most guys at my level, Yeah I was, having a made father and two made Uncles will do that for a guy. So yeah, I knew Pittsburgh guys, Cleveland guys, Providence guys(I lived there for a year) Scranton/Pittston Guys. Some of these guys I knew since I was a kid. I ran guns so I met a couple of Westies. I run a business where I have outfit and Rockford guys as clients.
Not claiming to be the Ghost of Al capo0ne guys, relax

Why is that? I've noticed that it's pretty true, but why wouldn't a stone killer make people step aside / not challenge out of fear? Do they usually lack the brains or have such a trigger that they are never trusted with the jobs that will really help you climb the tree?

I love that show as well, my wife first told me about it and I thought cheesy but as I watched it is great James Spader does a great job.

In order to earn you have to be visible and accessible, and the last thing you want is a guy who whacked 20 people in his life to be a fixture on the street. The feds will overlook a thief, they will never give a killer a pass.
Like I said, there have been exceptions. Sammy Gravano made Underboos, and it is a little know fact that Peanuts Trenalone was a prolific killer in his youth, and he made it to Boss in Cleveland, but he sort of became boss by default

The Arm, your enjoying this this is most likely the only way for you to get any attention so I understand. Instead of instgating people on the net you should go and meet some people or something. Good look maybe you make some friends. No need to respond just an idea.

Son, when I am in this site, it is because I am working on books or payroll and need a distraction, when I am not on this site, I am either working or reaping the benefits of my business.
There is nothing more pathetic than an amateur psycho analyst, trust me, although you and some of your Buds may want to see a real one about your preoccupation with me...Jus sayin

Re: "Don't be that guy" - 04/09/14 09:37 PM

just calling it like i see it. Any real dude wouldn't be on a damn forum talking war stories if they were the truth. If it were true why would you air yourself out? There is a huge difference between you and the knowledgeable posters. You make up bullshit war stories about wanting to take the "war" to the persico's house. you ignore the people who call you out cause you know your full of dogshit. one minute your a rochester guy the next your talking about the rush st. crew from chicago like you know whats going on. You read too much on the internet. U GOT CAUGHT COPYING AND PASTING SHIT AND PASSING IT OFF AS YOUR OWN. PPL like you have ruined this site. Do more payroll and less storytelling please.

What is wrong with some of you?? Ignore the guy. NOBODY believes him. Why do you let him get to you??

I'm not saying you can't call him out on his bullshit but you all have to stop with the name calling. It's childish.

Re: "Don't be that guy" - 04/10/14 01:22 PM

BTW SC, you do know that guy is someone you have suspended using anorther Screen name right?

"U GOT CAUGHT COPYING AND PASTING SHIT AND PASSING IT OFF AS YOUR OWN"

Nope...now matter how often you tell a LIE, it never becomes true...I made statements, people asked for proof, I "cut and pasted" proof...in other words called their (Your) bluff...You got stung...The end
(You are now BACK on ignore, I just wanted to see the post that provoked SC to slap your wrist)

Take SCs advice, IGNORE ME...becuse "NOBODY" beleives me...Rumors to the contrary were statrted by those who have NEVER found an inconsistancy in my strories or facts.

Arm, you're really beginning to become a pain. Stop riling up everyone with these types of responses. Stop the pitiful attempts at attention-getting. It is becoming very disruptive. You're posting here against the wishes of many members. Don't push my hand with these inciting messages.

Consider yourself warned.

Well done, Geoffy clap clap.

If you had left his rant up, you would have given him just what he wanted: More attention. But by deleting it, you've managed to make him as irrelevant online as he is in his real life.

So again, kudos! smile

Re: "Don't be that guy" - 04/10/14 05:34 PM

At first, I took the arm guy as someone who probably shouldn't be saying all he was sayin, but because he was dumb enough to get so deeply intertwined in the life, he's probably dumb enough to openly discuss it online, so who am I to stop him or care. But then, with the silly fighting and picking nit with people... You tend to get turned off by such behavior. He should have just spewed his shit and stayed silent... dump and run kind of thing. Instead, he liked to partake in internet bickering, which really makes one look spastic and low self esteem-ish. I'm guessing his last blast was deleted, so I don't know what insults he flung, but you just don't attack the guys who run the site. It's dumb. Besides, now we're going to have to endure his angry secret return. Where he reinvents himself and attacks the same people again.... yawn

Re: "Don't be that guy" - 04/11/14 12:34 PM

After a while I stopped caring whether or not he was legit. But it got to the point where he was detracting so much from the boards and letting it seep into other threads entirely unrelated to his posting, it was probably for the better to just ban him and be done with it.

Slumpy,

Isn't that a picture of Uncle Joe at the shore, I heard when he was three years old he was muscling in on the sandcastle and seashell action. wink

OK I have to ask what did the edited rant say? Or was it just ad hominem attacks against moderators and board admins?
