Mafia street level crimes - 03/31/14 07:18 AM

I've always been interested in how, I dunno what you'd call it, apprentices (Not yet made, but working on it) go about making a crust on the street in this modern day and age; What kind of activities would they be involved in etc. etc.

All info would be heaps appreciated.

Australian welcome to the board. I would say they probably are doing a lot of watch and learn stuff with the more seasoned guys, ride alongs until they learn the trade, maybe intimidation, collecting when instructed to do so. They probably got noticed for some skill by a made guy,and would be used in that manner initially. Good question!

Hang-arounds, wannabees, "associates" - they earn shit until they make their bones by doing something heavy to prove their worth.

Check out what Eddie Nash (the Wonderland Murders, John Holmes, Johnny Wadd, the porno industry) did in Hollywood. Female hang-arounds had to perform oral sex on him. He knew undercover females wouldn't do it, so he could expose them. Same thing happens to guys - until you prove yourself, I doubt you'll be making much. The apprenticeship can be long.

He was pretty fucked up, john holmes estranged wife said "He [Eddie Nash] was an awful man... John told me he used to leave the bathrooms without toilet paper, then offer the young women cocaine if they'd lick his ass clean."

If you look at recent mob cases, low level guys such as associates, soldiers engage in a wide variety of street crimes, home invasions, armed robberies, drug dealings, assaults, or organising one or more of those activities. I don't think getting made automatically makes a guy some sort of high roller.

Are any low level guys involved in internet scams (Scamming old people from dating sites out of their money etc.) It'd be interesting to see how a lot of younger guys (gen y) earn a crust with modern technology and whatnot.
