whose left of mancuso Bronx guys he had to have some young guys left guess he must have just took over vinny gorgeous crew. im still trying to figure out how he was named official boss since hes been in jail since 05. like how he round up the captains, how does he know who the capos were anymore after 10yrs in jail. unless he asked persico and maybe vic amuso to name him boss weird. maybe he's real close to tommy d and that he got anyone left in power to name mike nose boss so he could be the underboss. that guy angelo prisco was caught on wiring giving mikey nose a ton of praise. and nose new how to make money running that feast.

Mikey still has five years to go. There's NO WAY he's boss when he comes home. Too many people don't like him, regardless of what Angelo said on that tape. It's not surprising, though. Angelo is one of the least jealous mob guys who ever made it that far in the life. He's not the type to talk shit about people. He'll either praise them or say nothing at all. But the other Westside guys in the Bronx-Harlem faction fucking HATE Mikey wink.

But in the interim, he's the perfect lightning rod for the Feds. Frankly, I'm surprised that they're buying it.

So this guy's a front boss at best with di fore posing as acting boss, interesting times ahead methinks

Re: Trusted mobster's that Mancuso and Di Fore trust? - 02/05/14 02:31 AM

Smart move for the Bonnanos is just don't even bother with a boss/underboss/consig anymore at this point, let high level capos run shit and converse with themselves if need be.

This is probably not the last time we here of Massino bringing down other guys.

In the early 2000s, all Bonanno Bronx guys were under DeFilippo. But this crew split when Basciano was made a skipper. Mancuso, Montagna and some other guys stayed with DeFilippo. I´m also trying to figure out how Mancuso was named official boss. To me, it doesn´t make sense making somebody who´s in jail the official boss.

I don´t know exactly what you mean by that comment. Are you saying that Mancuso is just a figure head while the power is with somebody else? Did the Bonannos make Mancuso the boss in a calculating move to stir the feds away from the real power? If that´s the case, I´m sure the feds know about it and are not buying it.

Mancuso as boss?

Always been suspicious on that one. Bumped from a solider to Capo then Acting VERY fast. And only because he was in Vinny's crew. That he'd be given official, whilst in the can, unlikely.

Or in the words of the aforementioned Corrado Soprano "and I want to fuck Angie Dickenson. Let's see who gets lucky first.."

Di Fore's an old guy apparently though how long can he be an Underboss/De-Facto Boss for? or is he just holding onto it for somebody else, that is if he is the De-Facto Boss

Relatively speaking, 70 is nothing. It´s the new 60 lol. When I reach that age, I will be able to post on here, have arguments with Toodoped and play poker at the same time. All this while standing on my head.

I don´t know how much you have followed the Asaro case. If you´re interested, read the posts and attachments in the "News" thread. DiFiore is indicted as a captain/acting boss. That means he is not an acting boss any longer. And skip the underboss/de facto boss when relating to him. There used to be a ruling panel consisting of three captains running the Bonannos before DiFiore was appointed acting boss. My guess is that a new ruling panel will be established in the nearest future (if it hasn´t been established already).

70 is not old when you are not breaking your back working all your life.

Re: Trusted mobster's that Mancuso and Di Fore trust? - 02/06/14 05:42 AM

The fact that they resorted to a guy like DiFiore leads me to believe rabito wants nothing to do with the throne. A guy to watch is petey rabbits son, and remember Tony black furino had his crew overseen by the bx when he went to prison for extorting curves or some club on amboy rd

Hey Skinny do the Bonannos have anyone else in Jersey other than Sammartino that are active? I do not need names or anything just wondering how many guys you think they have.

Would you say the power base for the Bonannos is Staten Island at this point?

Yes as it always has been always works for recruitment except that they only recruit quantity over quality which is ok in the short term till somebody rats, I'd rather have 30 made men and 50 associates who are good earners and wouldn't rat over 200 made member's and 500 associates where half of em are fucking idiots and the other half rats

Thanks Phil I agree 100%. It seems like the only family that truly looks for quality anymore is the Westside. Even the Gambinos have clearly fallen off in quality, with the sex trafficking and what not.

will some one show up the 1 of those list of whoevers left in the family. there got to be close to 100 guys. massino said he had them like 10yrs ago at 150. news reported they made 18 guys in the last 2 yrs. vinny gorgeous must have made a few in his short time as boss.

You do realise the capo that was in charge of the sex trafficking for the Gambino's would also be a captain if he was in the Genovese family right? Trucchio is a rising star and a huge earner, as is Micheal Roccaforte who's meant to be his number 2, he's a young guy too.

Wonder if that guy Louis restivo is alive he was a Massimo favorite but went back along time. The 2000 commission meet was at his house. He was at fort devens. He did time for a couple murder never flipped these guys must be sick at massinos treachery. That would eat you up every nite in the can. I believe the 5 families maybe go down to 3 in ten yes. Probably not. Colombia are real small but they got the guys who shoot cops. And there real boss persicos never told.

Re: Trusted mobster's that Mancuso and Di Fore trust? - 02/08/14 12:18 PM

The Columbo's and Bonnano's have been rumoured to merge since the 80's.

Doubtful it will happen. Neither family was historically very large and despite the Massino devastation the family seems to have whethered the onslaught. The Columbo's meanwhile have hung in even under Persico and when he passes there may be a newer generation who will go back to a more quiet way of doing business. Castelle/Casteluci brothers, Uvino, young guys who may steer the family better post Persico.

So who knows? But IMO if a merger was going to happen it would've post Massino.

Honestly, none of us know if he would be made by the westside or not. If Ronnie one arm had been made on the westside then I agree the westside would have most likely made Alphonse. But really none of us know for sure if Alphonse would be made or not. I believe Carmine Franco is not made and he is and has been a huge earner for the Genovese, longer than Alphonse has been alive. Just because someone is a huge earner for the westside does not mean they are or even will be made. I am not a Fed or a made guy so I could not say how guys in the Genovese family think. You could be right I just do not think anyone on this board could know whether or not Alphonse would be made by the westside or not. My two cents.

You're acting like the Westside never made any mutts. It doesn't happen as often but it still happens wink.

And Carmine Franco is a terrible example. He had too much to lose to take a button. But he could have had it forty years ago if he wanted it. Same could be said for Angelo Ponte.

Welcome to the boards, LA smile.

Ponte Equities owns most of the old meat packing properties on West Street. That's what made the steak house kind of a monopoly lol.
