Spilotro Las Vegas Crew - 01/14/14 06:47 AM

What was the hierarchy in the Chicago Outfit's Las Vegas operations in 1986 before the great downfall? Is this chart correct?

Joseph Lombardo- Grand Avenue Capo, was in prison in 1986
Acting Capo- ?
Anthony Spilotro- Made man in charge of Las Vegas, underneath the Clown

Spilotro Crew:

Frank Rosenthal (technically deactivated in 1983)
Michael Spilotro (killed in 1986 with Anthony)
Herbie Blitzstein (operated under 1997)
Murray Ehrenberg (left Las Vegas around 1990 and deactivated)
Joseph Cusumano (deactivated at some point in the 1990s)
Joseph Hansen (unknown)
Paul Schiro (active until Family Secrets)
Joseph Blasko (active through the 1990s)
Larry Neumann (when was he convicted in IL?)
Sal Romano (deactivated in 1987, was a secret government informant)
Phillip Goodman (murdered in Chicago in 1988)

Los Angeles Operatives (not under Spilotro):

Frank Buccieri (in charge of unknown things in Los Angeles)
Vito Spillone (deactivated)

Operatives not under Spilotro in Las Vegas:

Rocco Lombardo (active through the 1990s)
Sam Cecola (allegedly still active)
Fred Pascente? (Pascente reference the fact that he did some work for Spilotro, but I always thought he was more of an Elmwood Park/Grand Ave. guy out of Chicago)

Mooch eboli became interim capo after lumbo went away. Spilotro was the Natural successor to take over the grand avenue crew but both he & eboli were in very poor health & that crew's downfall was imminent

Frank Cullotta will fit in there

Anyone see that movie about Stu Ungar? I didn't realize his connection to Spilotro when he was in vegas.

Not sure the crew's "downfall was imminent." When Eboli passed, Lumbo had Jimmy Cozzo take over his crew. The crew continued to be strong through the 1990s.

Yeah! Great poker player. Totally off topic, but Ungar could make the craziest calls and get away with it. Fearless. Many of the best poker players today try to adapt their style of play with UngarĀ“s.

Joey Cusumano's brother Sam was also in Spilotro's crew in Vegas.

I just meant with the that area becoming less & less of an Italian-american stomping grounds & more of a barrio, combined with the more ambitious guys in that crew getting older/sick, it was headed toward being the weakest of the four main crews

Frank Cullotta needs to be on the list as well.

Here's a piece on Spilotro and Las Vegas. The "Hole In The Wall" crew is pictured in the article.

When did Rick Rizzolo get involved in Las Vegas. I heard him and his son are still running scams and pushing a little bit of dope. Anyone know if he was ever involved with Spilotro and Company? Did he report to Lombardo?

Here are some articles about Rick Rizzolo. Seems like he is the only LCN Associate that is still involved in the Vegas underworld. Some of these articles mention the old Spilotro crew as well.

I believe Joseph Hansen is dead. Chris Petti worked under Spilotro for a time before taking over in Vegas after Tony's death.

Hansen is dead. Officially Don Angelini took over the West Coast and Vegas operations for Chicago, unofficially Chris Petti is the one that took over the West Coast and Vegas operations after Tony's death. Spilotro only lasted as long as he did cause Auippa had a soft spot for him.

Re: Spilotro Las Vegas Crew - 02/09/14 10:39 PM

Rick Rizzolo came up toward the end of Spilotro's days in Vegas, probably in 1983 or thereafter. He was not part of the Hole in Wall crew. He was a friend of Rocco Lombardo and worked in Las Vegas under Don Angelini. Therefore, it's safe to say Rizzolo was part of the new West Coast/Las Vegas crew post 1986.

As for actual mob activity, there really isn't any. He used to own the Club, but other than not paying taxes and committing an Assault, there didn't seem to be any loansharking, bookmaking, union busting, etc.

His connection to the Outfit now is probably only through Sam Cecola, who owns the other big strip club in Vegas, but as we know, is an associate of Elmwood Park in Chicago.

Re: Spilotro Las Vegas Crew - 02/12/14 08:09 AM

They made their money at the Crazy Horse Too Club legit and otherwise. Rocky Lombardo was the overseer of the Club for The Outfit.
The girls who worked there paid a certain amount of money each week for the privilege to work there. The girls in turn made money from tips and from whoring on the side off premises with the customers they met there.

Rocky reported directly to his brother in Chicago who was Joey Lombardo, one of the Top Two Bosses of the Outfit from behind the scenes, before he went away to College.

Rick Rizzolo was the owner of record and the front man.

Rizzolo had nothing to do with Spilotro or the men working under Spilotro.
