Angelo Lonardo was considered one of the most important mob informants in history. He was the under-boss of the Cleveland LCN. that exposed the commission.

Angelo Lonardo was the highest ranking mafia member ever to flip at that time. In all fairness, he was railroaded by a few of his underlings who were dealing major narcotics behind his back. Just like in the movie Goodfellas when Paulie tells Henry how his friend Griggs got 20 years for saying hello to a guy selling junk behind his back.

I don't think he didn't know. That is my opinion . HE had to know but may have pretended he didn't. like saying he was loaning the cash to Gallo knowing it was financing the drugs. His own brother was into dope. I just have to believe he wasn't that stupid.
