John Gotti, Jr. was stabbed during a mysterious dispute in Long Island on Sunday, a source told the Daily News.

Former Gambino crime family head John "Junior" Gotti was stabbed during a mysterious dispute in Long Island on Sunday, the Daily News has learned.

Gotti, the son of late "Dapper Don" John Gotti, told investigators he was stabbed in the stomach while trying to break up a fight between two strangers in the parking lot of a CVS in Syosset, a law enforcement source said.

The incident is now being investigated by both the Nassau County Police Department and Nassau County District Attorney Kathleen Rice's office, the source said.

Victoria Gotti and brother and John Gotti Jr.

Gotti, 49, initially walked into a Syosset hospital seeking treatment for the wound, the source said.

The injury was deemed serious enough that he was transferred to North Shore University Hospital, the source said.

The source was skeptical of his story.

John Gotti, Jr. was stabbed during a mysterious dispute in Long Island on Sunday, a source told the Daily News.

"It's hard to believe he would break up a fight between two strangers.”

Gotti’s lawyer, Charles Carnesi, said he had not heard about the attack.

Management at the CVS in Syosset declined to comment.

Do the cops not believe it?

Re: gotti jr stabbed - 11/12/13 12:51 AM

If the cops believe it, then I would have to wonder about the cops. Gotti has to have made a lot of enemies and there are guys I am sure that were pissed then he was made boss over men with more credentials, so I suspect a lot off people don't like him. There are also his many victims over the years. As I recall he was in a knife fight in some gin mill in Queens so maybe someone got their revenge.

Re: gotti jr stabbed - 11/12/13 02:48 AM

Gee whiz, you mean to tell me that Junior Gotti might not have quit the Mob like he promised? I mean he practically pinky swore that he saw the light and didn't want to follow in Daddy,Uncle Doofus, and Uncle Scumbag's footsteps. No,not him,he would walk away from "the life" and just bake gingerbread men for sick children.

I mean,I am shocked and more than a little depressed that Junior somehow went bad . The Gottis devoted so much of their lives to the service of their fellow man,and stood as shining moral beacons.

I mean,John Sr.put quite a few guys in the ground, and flooded the area with heroin, but for Christ sakes,he put on a free fireworks show every Fourth of July. FREE,mind you.

I can only hope that Junior Gotti can get past this and that the public will stop hounding him and let him get back to his goal of making the world just a little bit better.

If it was LCN I doubt they would have used a knife...on the surface the story is plausible...does anyone know what Junior is doing to support "the family"?...he claimed he was broke after the last trial so what are his sources of income?

Told the judge and the media that he wanted to write children's books didn't he ??? I wonder what's taking him so long...Maybe some 140 pound publisher stuck him in the gut because he gave him an advance and hasn't received any books yet?? lol

What's happened to NYC ?? First sharpton get stuck in the gut and survives, and now this punk....Come on NYC, do it right next time!!!!

I really think this guy has absoultly no pull with the gambinos anymore.I dont think dom cefulu or cali would even give this guy the time of day.It probably was a street fight with an old friend or even alite lol

It's a guess. Not like he actually knows what would happen. It would be my guess too that Gotti is not in the life and this was an isolated incident. Relax buddy

Re: gotti jr stabbed - 11/12/13 07:11 PM

I kinda like the alite theory, but I read he was a boxer but jr was to. I think it was alite or someone from the past. he did a lot of dirt less then 20yrs ago. these guys are still in there early 50tys and 40tys. jr may have retired but alot of his old pals didn't and if doesn't want to be a made man then he isn't gonna be protected under there flag so if you had a old grudge why not take a shot. kinda shows how fallen the gotti name has fell. remember some old westside guys were caught on a bug talking shit about growing up gotti. johns spinning in his grave.

No one has determined if it was LCN or not. His "Plausible" story is just that a stranger stabbed him. How often do people get stabbed by strangers for no reason. If he is so broke then is he still living in a mansion on the north shore of LI??

Right, the house he swore he couldn't afford and had to sell. Funny how that worked out. Same with his bullshit that he was moving to either Florida or South Carolina asap. Yet he's still in NY 4 years later.

Maybe Capeci will have some info on what really happened to Gotti in this weeks Gang Land column.

Re: gotti jr stabbed - 11/12/13 09:16 PM

It just seems to me that if someone wanted him dead, then he'd be dead. If you can close enough to stab a guy in a parking lot with no witnesses, you can get close enough to shoot him in the head. My gut tells me that this was spur of the moment over something stupid. But who knows?

I agree...no way that was planned. He either really did try to break up a fight or maybe he ran into someone and they had words.

But i am curious how he's earning money these days. A few years back he swore he was broke. I know he has or had a decent amount of commercial real estate so maybe he's earning his living from that. I remember the feds had it locked up but since he wasn't found guilty they probably had to release their hold on it. But he must have cash coming in from somewhere. He sure as shit isn't making anything with that movie of his...personally i doubt it will ever get made.

Re: gotti jr stabbed - 11/12/13 11:41 PM

I don't know much about junior gotti or the gotti's for that matter (I do know, but not as much as a lot of people because I haven't read all the gotti books and articles that everyone else has). So, with that caveat my opinion is that this isn't lcn related (or not ordered anyway) because i'm under the assumption the gotti's have been banihsed from the new york borgata's because of all the damage pappa gotti did. I can't imagine anybody in that world associating with him given those facts and that the goverment still has a spotlight on him. That family is the ultimate stay away as no good for anyone in that world comes from being around them now

Re: gotti jr stabbed - 11/13/13 12:59 AM

My opinion, not that it means anything ,is that the only Gotti left with real juice is Gene Gotti, and he's in prison, so this mutt is open game and nobody respects him !!!

Re: gotti jr stabbed - 11/13/13 02:12 AM

I gotta laugh at how the NY media spins the article for the Gotti's ...He wont squeal ???? Neither does any other street guy in the country for a crime like that...Come on...The real story is why he was treated like a punk !!!

Re: gotti jr stabbed - 11/13/13 02:16 AM

The Gottis that are left are still allowed to earn but they don't have any type of real say or power. As Di said, Gene is the only left with respect on the streets and he's been locked up for 25 years.

Not mob related and Jr doesn't have shit to do with the Gambinos anymore. Stupid fights in a parking lot don't change that.

All these comments about look for the person responsible to vanish soon are pretty stupid. He's a nobody.

That movie will never get made. Ever. That press conference three years ago (with Travolta and that Lohan twat) was a desperate attempt by the producers to raise capital, and it didn't work. I posted as much then, and I stand by that claim now.

As far as the stabbing, I posted my thoughts about it yesterday. I think it was over something stupid, and I agree that Junior is out of the life. But just for the record, the Corozzos love that kid. And if he has a problem, he still has a place to go. I rarely say things like this, but trust me on that wink.

My understanding was that you cannot retire from the mob- especially after you were promoted to capo or to the boss. I thought that a guy, like Michael Franzese was the exception to the rule, and there were rumors that he had to pay his way out.

How would Jr have been allowed to retire?
Posted By: Skinny

Re: gotti jr stabbed - 11/14/13 04:46 AM

It was exactly what it said in the paper. No conspiracy or nothing.

He's out of the life 100% he is an investor in a HB based restaurants/catering that opening a place in fl and already in LI. He still owns his house in OB if that tells you anything about his income. Property taxes alone will run him about 40k. Putting two kids thru nice colleges, and one in a private HS in OB ain't cheap. The corozzos wouldn't want the heat that comes with clipping him, they hated his father but they are generations different from jr. His go to guy without a doubt would be his uncle gene or tommy twitch. Everyone respects Angelo ruggiero jr bc he's a stand up guy, so he's another guy who would back him up.

I doubt the movie gets made either

In JRs case the gambanos would of just been happen to see the end of him.He wasnt a good earner he wasnt respected and Marino and corrozzzo were really running the family back then. This guy would of been a nobody if it wasnt for his dad.It was similar to Allie boy (who is 10x the gangster jr is)but scarpa was the most powerfull guy in the colombos during the vic orena war.Michael Franzese was making so much money he probably paid off the persicos so they just let him live his life in peace. He makes it out that he has to watch out when he goes to New York but Bullshit none is going to fuck with him he is just saying that to sell more books.

lol, they hired Joe Pesci to gain 30 lbs and would be paid $3 million to play Quack Quack Ruggiero. Then, later they tell him he'll be playing someone else for $1 million. I think they told him after he gained weight and became a fat fuck because he was pissed and sued them.

And Lindsay Lohan was slotted to play Victoria, but she had some crazy demands so they dropped her.

I'm not sure of the final cast, but Travolta looks nothing like Gotti, and Pesci doesn't look like Quack Quack. Plus they're both too old for the parts. Travolta will turn 60 in a few months....Gotti died at 61 and was locked up at 52. Even though he is probably not playing Ruggiero anymore....Pesci is 70, yet Quack Quack died at age 49.

And at one time they said Al Pacino was going to play Neil Dellacroce in the movie. You have any idea how much money a cast like that would cost just on their salaries alone? And they all want their money upfront because they know thats the only way they'll get their cash.

So lets see ...that's Al Pacino, Anthony Hopkins, Pesci, and John Travolta. I don't think they can even really afford one of those guys let alone 2 or 3 of them. They don't have that kind of money behind them as far as i know or read. Next thing you know they'll be saying DeNiro is going to play Chin Gigante.

I hope the movie does get made...but i won't believe it until the films in the can and in the theaters or even straight to DVD.

In this weeks Gang Land News column Capeci wrote that his sources on both sides of the law don't believe it happened at that CVS which Capice said was one of the very few places without a video camera and that Gotti always has someone driving him around. They all think Gotti had at least one person with him.

But all of Capice's sources agreed that it had nothing to do with "any animosity that mobsters from all five families have for the 49-year-old ex con"

I'd post the column but i don't think thats allowed here.

Re: gotti jr stabbed - 11/15/13 07:42 PM

The problem is that a few Gotti movies have been already made and the story has been told. This was at the height of his popularity.

The challenge now is I don't trust the point of view from John A. He'll glamorize his father, romanticize their crimes....from extorting Scores ("hey, they begged me to be a silent investor"), to the attempted kidnapping/murder of Sliwa ("I was just messing around. Why can't he handle a harmless practical joke?"), to Sammy the Bull ("he made up lies and framed my dad!").

Didn't they say Ben Foster was going to play Gotti Jr? You guys ever see Foster...he's a real skinny guy and looks nothing like Gotti Jr. I know you don't have to have an actor that looks identical but Foster is so far from it that it surprised me they picked him. And i like Ben Foster...he played the crazy brother in Alpha Dog and has been in a bunch of stuff. But i just can't picture him as Junior Gotti.

DeNiro as Gigante would be a real trip. I'd love to see it.

"they hired Joe Pesci to gain 30 lbs and would be paid $3 million to play Quack Quack Ruggiero"

Fuck that. Pesci should play Nick Scarfo in a movie. He's already played Spilotro. People need to find more super tough midget mobster roles for him to play. He's the Italian version of the Notre Dame mascot.

Here's a new thread: What midget mobster should Pesci play next?
Posted By: LittleMan

Re: gotti jr stabbed - 11/17/13 05:25 AM

Nicky Scarfo is a very good call.

However, Pesci isn't a slam dunk to play any mobster. In the Good Shepherd, Pesci plays a character based on Santo Trafficante. I thought he was terrible for the role.

Re: gotti jr stabbed - 11/17/13 02:46 PM

Cops decline to investigate stabbing of Junir Gotti

No video. No cooperation. No police investigation.
Nassau County cops said Tuesday they’re no longer probing the alleged stabbing of John Gotti Jr.
And behind the scenes, law enforcement sources have expressed doubt about the mob icon’s story that he was stabbed in the gut Sunday while breaking up a fight between strangers in the parking lot of a CVS in Syosett, L.I.
There are no cameras in the parking lot. An employee of Bagel Masters in the same shopping center as the CVS told the Daily News that no one from law enforcement had asked to review the surveillance videotape of the area immediately in front of his store.

Gotti didn’t call the police after the alleged attack. He first made the claim after walking into a Long Island hospital.
Gotti’s former best friend says the Good Samaritan tale sounds bogus because the son of late Gambino crime boss John Gotti isn’t a legitimate tough guy.
“Anyone that knows him from the streets or jail knows he’s soft with a big mouth,” ex-Gambino associate John Alite told The News. “I was his shield — or someone like me — for years.”
Another source says Gotti usually travels with big, burly companions resembling bodybuilders.

This CVS in Syosset, L.I., where John Gotti Jr. says the alleged knifing happened.

A police spokeswoman on Tuesday referred inquiries to the office of Nassau County District Attorney Kathleen Rice, which apparently does have an interest in the mysterious attack over the weekend.
Gotti could insert his version of the stabbing in the planned biopic “Gotti: In the Shadow of My Father,” although that project is something of a mystery, too.
The film was supposed to start shooting in September with a star-studded cast including Anthony Hopkins, John Travolta, Al Pacino and Kelly Preston. But the production has been plagued by changes in directors and funding.
“The movie is definitely still happening, but right now the important thing is my friend’s health,” producer Marc Fiore said.

He was adamant that the Mafia biopic has kicked off its cement shoes after a series of false starts.
A rep for Travolta, who is slated to play Gotti Sr., was asked if the actor had any comment on the stabbing.
“He likes John Gotti Jr. a lot,” the rep said.

He was tall for an Italian-American of his generation, that's for sure. And he had a tremendous girth for most of his life that made him appear even bigger. But he wasn't really close to 6'3. More like 5'11 and 1/2. Maybe even 6 feet even. But no taller than that.

lol He does look like the chin and could easily play the part. I don't think the Gotti's would want movie producers telling them how to do there job that's why that whole production is a mess. They have disillusion's of grandeur in thinking of who they really are.

Chazz would be a good Quiet Dom.

i know not many people care about the philly mob for there to be a blockbuster movie, but the nicky scarfo era was ridiculous as far as double crossing and drama and murders is concerned, hell even the merlino era. there has to be a way to make this into a movie maybe we all should take the lead and make this! lol

I hadn't seen Chaz P. since A Bronx Tale so was quite surprised last week on 'Blue Bloods" at how he has aged. I still think he can play a good role. DeNiro can play any gangster and I'm sure he could do a better Gotti than anyone else- even at his age. Even though there have been a number of Gotti shows, I would still like to see a high quality movie of him.

From what I've read Chazz P. is supposed to play Castellano in this production (if it ever happens). He's already played Castellano in "Boss of Bosses". It's hard to salvage anything out of a film as bad as that one was but it wasn't one of his best performances, I don't see him doing any better this time around, he's just no Castellano.

I do agree he might make a good Chin.

De Niro would make a brilliant Gigante, and he is 5"9 or 5"10 depending on what you read so the height difference wouldn't be an insurmountable problem.

Any new theories on the Gotti stabbing after 8 months of hindsight?
