Wilfred "Willie Boy" Johnson - 09/11/13 12:07 AM

Willie Boy was an interesting mobster who was Native American (Lenape tribe) and Italian. Could he have been made later on if he wasn't an informant. He was a good earner but his bloodline he couldn't be made because of his father who was Native American.

im sure if he was a great earner someone would have eventually made him. there have definitely been people who have been made who were only Italian on their mothers side. John Veasey is someone who comes to mind. Hell John Gotti Jr. was only 75 percent Italian, so if you are a great earner then the rules really get bent/broken a lot of the time, we all know that. Hey, rules are made to be broken right? So you never know. I do know that Gotti would have never made him because of this, but im sure someone who was a little less strict on that part of Cosa Nostra would have let him in if he was either great at murder or earning, or both.

I doubt he wouldve been made in ny but who knows. junior gotti was made out of nepotism, when your dad is the "teflon don" nobody is gonna be questioning about whether hes 75 percent or 100 percent italian. Veasey was made cause stanfa was pretty much desporate for guys. So johnson cant really be compared to them i think.

yeah that whole Stanfa era was ridiculous. He made a former cop and rat in Ron Previte, i mean talk about desperate. In Leonetti's book he said that Ralph Natale was not even made and he became the "boss" and he didn't take it seriously. Is it true that Natale was never even made?

No joey merlino, who was just a soldier at the time, made natale and then natale was made boss.

so how does that work? how can a soldier make someone? and then to go from being made by a soldier to becoming a boss? its a joke, just like Natale's criminal career. I guarantee theres dozens of people on this message board that could have been a better boss than Natale lol.

Exactly it was a joke, but the only thing real about natale though was his connections with new york.

he was locked up for selling drugs, what kind of boss has his major business as a drug dealer. I would have loved to have Natale as a boss, he was probably such a puppet for Merlino lol.

I don't think he could have been made but he was indeed an interesting character. I remember from "Underboss" that he made Gotti swear on his dead son that he wouldn't hurt him and somehow John convinced him. Then, some months later after things got cooled down, Tommy Karate whacked Willie Boy with 19 rounds supposedly as a favor to Gotti.
Can somebody clear this up cause I'm not sure whether Gotti okayed (ordered) this or was Tommy just going rat-patrol and doing him a favor hopefully to get on John's good side?

If Willie Boy's dad was a mob boss he could have been made. Other cities maybe but not in New York

From what I have read, Wilfred Johnson apparently mentioned John Gotti on the McBratney hit. Johnson was offered protection for his cooperation but Gotti told him nothing would happen to him if he didn't testify. Willie Boy believed him and was then killed.

Turncoats claimed Thomas Pitera and Vincent Giattino were the two shooters in the Wilfred Johnson murder. Pitera was later acquitted of the murder during his 1992 trial.

Willie Boy had to be pretty stupid to believe that he could be forgiven for such serious breach which could potentially put Gotti behind bars for ages. Diane Gicalone was a real bitch for exposing Willie Boy after all he did for the Gov't.

Your right the whole stanfa / natale era was a joke . I bet Merlino didn't even have the right to make natale in the first place . Merlino played natale like a fiddle , he has to be the worst mob boss of all time , he was a drug dealer nothing more . Wen he was so called boss he tried to set things up and not one scam came off , they all amounted to shit . Natale then reverted bak to wot he had always done , dealing . He was even a terrible witness wen he ratted because Merlino had only told him wot he wanted him to hear
