What mobster would have the most - 08/19/13 02:02 AM

interesting autobiography?

Dead mobsters:
Lucky Luciano - Castellamarese War and beginning of the modern Mafia.
Tony Accardo - Outfit from the days of Capone to the 1990's
Carlo Gambino - Anastasia's death and building his family into the most powerful
Meyer Lansky - The Jewish mob's interaction with the Italians, casinos in Florida, Cuba and Las Vegas

My pick would be Lucky.

Living mobsters:
Sonny Franzese - Almost 80 years of mob history and the 3 Colombo Wars.
Dominic Cirillo - Close confidante of Gigante and probably knows many family secrets after 60 years in the mob
Matthew Madonna - His association with Nicky Barnes and 20 years at Lewisburg's Mafia Row

My pick would be Sonny Franzese.

sonny franzese must have a bank of info in that ancient brain of his. i wonder if he can still remember shit. would love to kidnap the guy for a week listen to all his stories and put him back lol. he would probably remember lucky when he was in charge. and he must have loads of stuff on old man profaci who was even older than lucky! its wrong that this guy is allowed to die without getting every story out of him. the government (for historical purposes) should give him immunity for everything he says pre 70s and let him discuss everything from as far back as the 30s. mad to think this guy was in his 20s in the 30s!

You really think Franzese would give up Mafia secrets?

i wish!! but no its hypothetical really. although this is all ancient history pre 70s. there would be nobody left alive from the stuff i would wanna know from him.. but hey the guy has lived the life up until his late 90s. doubt he would decide to break the oath in a loose way just to divulge history. he would want his personal mafia resume perfect and will go down in the underworld as a legend. shame about his namesake though the junkie.

On one of the recent shows Michael Franzese said Sonny threw him under the bus in a meeting about whether Michael was kicking up what he was supposed to with the gas tax money. Sonny is all business. Sonny went in first and then Michael. Afterwards Michael said another guy told him that his father did him no favors in the meeting he had with the guys running the family at that time. I forget exactly who called Franzese in.

Probably Gerry Lang, and depending on the time period maybe even the Snake himself.

Still living....

Albert Gallo would have one hell of a story I think as would Charlie "Moose" Panerella.

Dead

Carlos Marcello, Tony Mirra or Tommy Lucchese

If he were still alive, Lucky Luciano. Every story about early Mafia centers on him.

Of those still alive, Carmine Persico. He may not be the oldest, but he was on The Commission, and was made pre-1957. He must have some great stories to tell.

Costello is good choice, he could shed light on many issues from post-Luicano period, and give real story of why he was shot by The Chin.

Sam Giancana.

I'd like to hear the details about Marilyn Monroe and other starlets, the 1960 election, his Mexico operations, the CIA/Castro deals, and the murders of JFK and RFK.

That's why I said Trafficante. Santo was in deeper than any of them.

Re: What mobster would have the most - 08/20/13 06:27 PM

Yep he was just as cunning as Carlo Gambino and Lucky. He showed his power after Giancana and Roselli were going to show up at that hearing. He clipped everyone.

Who knows what would have been said at the hearings though.

Re: What mobster would have the most - 08/20/13 06:33 PM

They probably would of talked, Roselli definitley, he was the equivalent of anthony zerilli today.

Re: What mobster would have the most - 08/20/13 10:12 PM

Charles Binaggio!!!!!!!!!! Most interesting mob figure to me and always has been. Kansas City Boss from 1939 to 1950. During his reign innocent witnesses ended up poisoned. Casinos bombed. And by the end of it all he almost succeeded in getting gambling legalized throughout Missouri. Ran the politics in KC too. KC was so corrupt back then with the Pendergast Machine it was just amazing.

Ross Prio needs his own book. Very powerful guy. Behind more ill dealings than most are aware of.

Johnny Dio and his uncle James Plumeri need their own book detailing garment industry corruption. Tony Ducks Corallo desperately needs his story told. There's obviously something there, we just don't know enough.

Russell Bufalino needs a proper book. The Frank Sheeran book barely covered him. An Angelo Bruno book would be good.

I personally love luciano. He was one of the greatest mobsters to ever live. I would love to read his autobiography.

Carlos Marcello from New Orleans or Jimmy Lanza from San Francisco, not much on either of them.

I would go with Lucky...he's like the Rosetta Stone of LCN from the early 20th Century and post Castellamarese War bringing the start of today's LCN....but a lot of the guys on the list are interesting as well

I would also really enjoy reading Sonny Franzese life story as well...but Crillo and Madonna are right up there with him so I can't really pick from the bottom three....they each have such interesting stories to tell, honestly

Wish he would, but he's to died in the wool to ever give any shit up-even although everyone we'd like to hear about is probably long dead...we'll need to wait on sonny kicking it and Michael telling all the stories.....

Re: What mobster would have the most - 10/07/13 12:44 PM

Philly books say Joe Pungitore's father and brother were both made guys including himself, I'd bet he has some interesting stories from early childhood and through the years being Sal Testa's "best friend" and being a soldier under Scarfo. He's just one guy I've always wondered about and wanted to know more on. But a list of interesting people to me would in no special order consist of Tony Accardo, Anthony Senter, Skyball Scibelli, Adolfo Bruno, Felix Tranghese, Dom Cirillo, Sal Catalano, Biaggio DiGiacomo, and so many more.
