I imagine that some of the oldest would have been people made in 75,76,77 after the books had been reopened.

For the youngest, Spilotro was either late 20s or early 30s. He was only 32 when he was sent out to oversee Las Vegas. Nick Ferriola may be made in Chicago (although most posters say no).

Oldest: Victor Spilotro at age 54 in Chicago in the late 1980s or early 1990s

Dino Marino in Chicago recently in 2008 was early 50s

Mike Rizzitello in LA was close to 60 when made in the mid 1980s

Jimmy Caci in LA was made sometime around 1980 when he was 55

Ralph Natale was made in the early 1990s in Philly when he was close to 60.

I highly doubt Victor Spilotro was ever made ESPECIALLY AFTER what happened to his brothers. I doubt Nick Ferriola is made either but probably will be at some point as he went away and kept his mouth shut. As far as Dino Marino, Louie's son, it wouldn't surprise me if he has been made.

Re: the youngest and the oldest mafioso to be made - 07/24/13 08:39 PM

Craig DePalma was about 25, but his father was a skipper at the time. The second generation kids always get made younger than everybody else. Nepotism. That's just the way it is.

But on the other side of that coin, anyone who drags their own flesh and blood into that life has to have a screw loose. Especially today.

in this day and age they can't afford not to plug ferriola

Re: the youngest and the oldest mafioso to be made - 07/25/13 12:26 PM

Agreed. Cicero will make Ferriola if they haven't already done it. After all, His relative, Joe Ferriola, was a legend in the Outfit and was the Capo within the Extended Cicero Crew under Auippa for years.

Victor Spilotro is not made.
Dino Marino is made. (Cicero)

Re: the youngest and the oldest mafioso to be made - 07/25/13 01:29 PM

Vic spilotro is a nobody. Dino Marino is a very tough Guy. Nick F. may never be made IMO, but who knows. Cicero will start to scout younger & younger talent, they're not in a hurry to make guys.

Re: the youngest and the oldest mafioso to be made - 07/25/13 01:31 PM

Nick just isn't a tough Guy in that vein, they'd be smart to keep him in the wings, he's a smart businessman

Re: the youngest and the oldest mafioso to be made - 07/25/13 01:44 PM

I think Cicero may have made Nick. I'll check into it.
The guy is good. He is like another Dominic Cortina or Donald Angelini when it comes to Bookmaking.

Does anybody have a link or know where to find the wiretap transcript mentioned in the Kitty Capparella article about Harry Hunch? Its got to be good reading.

""The FBI wiretap, considered a "classic," captured mobsters talking about La Cosa Nostra and its transition of power for the first time. Riccobene said he had "no respect" for Scarfo, after he stabbed a sailor, Joseph Dugan, for no reason inside the Oregon Diner in 1963.""
