what if Massino would skip Cesare Bonventre hit ? - 07/18/13 10:36 PM

Do you think if the former Bonanno Boss, Joe Massino would've skipped getting Cesare Bonventre murdered, what would happen ?

Bonventre was a charismatic capo who had Sicilian origins and liked by the whole zip faction of the family. When Massino seized the seat, he seem Bonventre as a danger to his throne by saying ''Bonventre's a dangerous guy'', what if Bonventre wouldn't got killed, instead what if he'd support the three capos against Massino Crew ? What do you think ? Would it get Bonanno Family to the top ?

I think in my opinion Bonventre made Massino nervous here is a guy who was brought over from the old country by Galante who loved and trusted "Zips" and this Bonventre was a bodyguard and close to Galante who was involved in the murder of his boss Galante. It shows no loyalty on Bonventre's part. Bonventre is a capo and a potential future threat to Massino and his power. Why would you want a guy like that high up working for you?

He would still be tainted for the Galante betrayal with other members and I believe eventually taken out if not by Massino but by another boss.

Yep from everything I've seen most here didn't trust the Zips but I'm no pro on this stuff. I don't think it would have changed anything if he lived either, eventually they would have done away with him in my opinion.

you're missing a point. Whole the Bonanno Family betrayed to Galante. They all agreed with The Commission to take out Galante, their loyal boss, even dough he had a hunger, he was still loyal to his own family. So Bonventre is not lonely could've been held responsible for that. Plus; zip factions are always the ones containing muscle power and the connections, that's a good card to play, i think that would change the things.

he would have got 45yrs in the pizza case. he protégé amato never went hire then a soldier even thou he ran that crew of killer kids in queens the Gianni crew. that's the weird part. George was his capo I wonder who else was in that crew. after they killed George they wanted rizzuto to be capo.
