Is Joey required to stay in Florida? I can't understand why he would set up shop in Boca. That area is a retirement village.

Far from the truth. Sure there are people who are retired down there, just like any place with warm weather year round. Boca is one of the most beautiful and wealthiest places in the world. The women there are unbelieveable. You have plenty of young women and mature women (Supermodel and porn star material) looking for a guy who is attractive with status and money, and Merlino can offer them that. You have beautiful golf courses, shopping, resorts, MLB spring training, private country clubs, restaurants, deep sea sport fishing, beautiful yachts, and you are not far from Ft. Lauderdale which has plenty of nightlife. There are plenty of things to entertain Merlino down there, and the weather is amazing. I wish I had a place in Boca Raton. The question should be "Why would he want to go back to Philly at all?"

I actually agree with Snickers here. My wife and I live in neighboring Delray Beach for about four months a year, and yes, there are still tons of 55+ retirement villages, but the area has gotten MUCH younger in the past ten or so years. It's a great place to live with a great arts, bar and restaurant scene, and an eclectic nightlife.

It's not South Beach, by any stretch of the imagination, but so what? South Beach is insane. Living there today is like living on the Vegas strip. Nice place to visit and all that, but if you're over thirty you'll get bored pretty quick. Give me Palm Beach County any day. Golf courses, restaurants, great weather (except for the brutal summers).

lol. I only go down to florida in the winter to visit buddies i have down there. Never in the summer, that place is just too fuckin hot and humid in the summer for me and fuck those mosquitoes down there too. Went there one time in the summer a long time ago.....never again.

Looks like it from the pic, but I can't say I'm 100% sure. We're in Delray about four months a year, GC. Delray and Boca border each other. We hardly ever go down in the summer for the reasons you stated, but if you're ever in the area during the winter let me know.

The guy on the right is johnny t. Hes a guy from ny who owns a bunch of horses. Joey m was always infatuated with ny guys. Johnny was always infatuated with celebrity gangsters. Thats why they get along so well. Joeys just using him for money. Johnny was one of the guys that started visiting joey in the joint. They didnt know each other before joey went in.

I am no Philly/Merlino expert but...is Joey really trying to get things in line in Florida like MikeySunsets says? Given how high profile he is...that cannot be a recipe for success for him. Then again, maybe he is old school and will never retire? Isn't that a terrible idea to get right back in business?

I think he was kidding. But the truth is, even if Joey is The Boss of the Philly family, there are still a dozen wiseguys in Florida with more influence. I'm not looking for a silly geographical pissing match, I'm just stating a fact.
