lord michael caruso - 04/01/13 09:10 PM

Came across this article.
http://www.villagevoice.com/2000-05-23/news/wu-tang-clan-is-sumthing-ta-fuck-wit/

Ex ecstasy trafficker turned government informant. Testified against nightclub king peter gatien and chris paciello. After flipping he somehow managed to become a manager to several members of the wu tang clan who also protected him from reprisals from his former associates and drug dealers he robbed, that was until village voice ran an article outing him as a snitch he was then fired. He was also on latin kings hit list after he and chris paciello got into a fight with members outside a club.

Interview with wu tang member cappadonna explaining the situation?

Your manager Michael Caruso was fired after it was claimed in a Village Voice article that he had been or was a police informant. Can you tell us about that?
I don’t know. I don’t know about his personal life. We did some work together, he worked for me. He was good at what he did and I hired him on those basics. I didn’t do a background check on him. I’m not no kind of agency or anything like that, but he did good work and that’s how I know him. I have no information on his past life and whether or not he was involved with certain activity or not.

ya there's a great documentary about that called Limelight, tells the entire story. Billy Corben made it, same guy that did all the Cocaine Cowboys movies

The clan were real gangsters so they have alot of nefarious individuals around them. I listened to an interview with rza once where he basically said all of them including associates were ex felons. it says something about them if he felt like having them around him would protect him from reprisals.

I think your right about caruso still managing ghostface killer.

"In my post the other day about the new Ghostface Killah video, for “Stapleton Sex,” I speculated that the S&M theme may have been the work of some perv white kid in the Def Jam, maybe one of the same douchebags who get paid more money than I’ll ever make to full up my inbox with shit I couldn’t use if I wanted to. Then it occurred to me, yesterday afternoon, while conducting some unrelated pr0n research, that “Caruso,” credited as the director of “Stapleton Sex,” is probably Mike Caruso, the FBI informant who used to manage Cappadonna.

Remember? The Wu had to cut ties with Cappadonna, when they started having a lot of legal problems all of a sudden. That’s when he moved to Baltimore and became a cab driver. There was a big story about it in the Village Voice, back when I was in college. I remember I walked past Mike Caruso on the street behind Union Park in Chicago, when I was at the Intonation Music Festival in 2006, and the guy I was with (no homo) pointed out that it was him. I didn’t realize Ghostface continued to work with Mike Caruso after it was revealed that he’s a snitch. But apparently he did and he still does.

Probably the only way we’ll know for certain if this is a big deal, on the level of the T.I. and Rick Ross controversies, is if the Smoking Gun turns up documents on this guy Caruso. Maybe they can get to the bottom of whether or not he was involved in them being investigated for gun trafficking back in the late ’90s. Part of the (endless) fun of the Alfamega outing was the speculation that he might be responsible for T.I. being in the joint as we speak. This would be a case where an informant actually did cause legal problems for a rap group.

yes they were being investigated for running guns, one of there "affiliates" Wise God Allah was murdered in steubenville, then that created a war...ghostface raps about it on the song In The Rain or some call it Wise

he says "yall Steubenville niggas fucked up"

rza has a lot of family in steubenville and actually was on trial for murder there but got off on self defense

fbi released their files on wu tang and odb about a year ago heres an article about the main points in the files. http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/20...-fbi-files.html

Rza claimed some connection to the gambinos which was part of the investigation into them but really if any of it was true i think they would all be locked up. I mean considering all the mob informants since the early 90s you would think a few of them would have shed light or snitched on them. Rza doesnt seem like an idiot, i doubt he would allow for outright criminal activity to take place that would risk everything.
