genovese family size?

Im reading the book 5families by selwyn raab (its huge) and just finished the chapter chins last hurrah which deals with him running the fam after his arrest in 96.now it says when he was first convicted on rico charges the genovese fam was in good shape with 300made men and 14crews.also says its the largest.I thought the gambinos were b4this with around200made? Did the genovese really have 300made guys in the 90s?

And does any1know who the undercover cop "big frankie " was that was able to get into a crew? Or who the captain of that crew was

He infiltrated Patsy Parello and Rigitello(Bronx) crews! He played a trucker for
Virginia or Carolina's! Greed got in in the crew!

You'll notice in that book that Raab cites specific estimates of the 5 NY family sizes in the chapter after the he wraps up the Commission case. He cites the Gambinos as being the largest family. That said, in both his book and his articles, Raab's estimates have always been a little inflated for some reason.

The Gambinos were larger than the Genovese family up to the mid-1990's but only slightly. Since that time, the Genovese family has been said to be the largest. But again, only slightly.

The latest estimates have both families at slightly over 200 members.

Not to mention the Gambinos always had more crews, the Genoveses had about 15 crews during the 1990s.
