Falcone and Borsellino were both assassinated, there is a monument at the spot Falcone's car was blown up near Palermo. The Palermo airport is named after the two Judges. The people were outraged and turned on the mafia, telling on hundreds and sending them to prison.

Today, May 23, is the 21st anniversary of Giovanni Falcone's murder. Also killed in the explosion were his wife, Francesca Morvillo, and their three bodyguards in the police escort: Antonio Montinaro, Rocco Dicillo, and Vito Schifani.

Riposate in pace.

May 23 1992 - May 23 2014

It's been 22 years ago, but it's if it was yesterday.
Only twice in the Italian history, has come close to destroying the Mafia.
The first in the 20s with Cesare Mori and the second after the death of Falcone and Borsellino, in the 1992/1993 season. But in both cases, the politics has made that isn't go until the end, and the Italian public shortly after she returned to her usual apathy.

HONOR TO FALCONE E BORSELLINO.

FUCK THE MAFIA,MURDER ALL THE MAFIOSI.

Surprised riina never 'killed' himself in prison, since italy does not have the death penalty..

You're always gonna have organized crime, always.
As long as the human being has certain appetites for gambling, pornography or whatever, someone's always gonna surface to serve these needs.
Always.
