Who do you guys think it is? Neil Migliore? Albert Gallo? Joey Merlino?

Depends what you mean by "notorious." Some of the most dangerous guys out there are the guys who aren't quite famous. Neighborhood guys who you've probably never heard of via the Internet.

Barney is probably the most famous.

Notorious: Famous or well known, typically for some bad quality or deed.

If that goes for the general public, and not just us mob watchers, it would probably have to be John Gotti Jr. He may not even be active anymore, but - from a name recognition point - I'd say it's him.

...guys from the neighbourhood. Never assume us mobwatchers have a handle on every connected guy. I think what PB was saying (and please correct me if Im wrong PB) is that some of the heaviest and most dangerous hitters could be guys still on the street with next to no knowledge known about them.

I would put Joe Watts up there when he gets out, the guy was a major money maker and capable killer. One of my favorite Joe Watts stories is when he had a hole already buried for a guy, but somehow the guy avoided getting killed.
