In your opinion, what are the most important FBI surveillance / undercover photos of LCN? What is your favorite and why?

Most important:
1. The Commission Meeting pictures of Big Paul, Fat Tony, Tony Ducks and Carmine.
2. Joe Massino, Vito Rizzuto, George from Canada and others at the hotel the day after the 3 Captains murders.

Favorite:
1. Fat Tony Salerno holding court at the Palma Boys club chomping on a cigar in his fedora. Classic LCN picture portraying honor and respect, but underneath that veneer was ice cold murder.

I like the ones from 1979 outside the Ravenite right after the Galante hit when the killers come tell dellacroce the killing has been a success

I like the one of Gambino, Castellano some Capo's and Frank Sinatra. So funny when Sinatra was questioned in the inquiry and he claimed not to know who those guys were! LOL

Usually on discussion boards, its common protocol to post pics you speak of in a thread. That's how it's done on every other discussion board ever known to man so why would it be different here?

You're right but I wasn't commenting on the posting of pictures or not, but rather on bonanno constantly asking other members to post things that he doesn't want to look up himself.

There is one of Scarfo and his whole crew on his 40 ft Silverton boat in South Florida. That had to piss the feds off.

For some reason I've always loved that pic of Gotti in the Oakland Raiders jacket.

You can learn a lot from a person's eyes. But surprisingly, Joe Colombo doesn't tell us much. Wonder who took this photo? He looks like a real white collar guy. Of course, anyone who killed for Profaci was quite the opposite.

Good point. I don't think that is Joe Adonis in the photo. The car appears to be a late '60s model (Turnbull or Johnny Ola would know for sure) and photos of Adonis from that period all show him with gray hair. Also, I'm not sure but I don't think Adonis ever came back to the U.S. after he was deported (except after death).

Yeah, the guy doesn't even look as Adonis. Maybe it was just a relative of him.

Gotti/Gravano may not have known who was behind the bombing, you're right. But in 1986 Casso learned through murder victim Jimmy Hydell and his crooked cops that the Gambinos were behind his shooting and planned to kill everyone associated with the would-be hit, including Gotti & Gravano. Casso never really gave up trying to obtain vengeance.

Casso is such an interesting guy I think. I think if the family wouldnt have shafted him when he was caught and sent in the can he wouldnt have flipped. He was persona-non-grata at that point nobody in the family on the outside lifted a finger to help him cause they were pissed off at his reign.

well also i think he saw the incredible deal gravano got and once he saw he had no future left on the streets if he ever got out he figured he could talk to the feds and maybe get a similar deal like sammy, casso said the feds offered him 6 years, they offered sammy 5 i think, but we all know how things turned around

but i do believe him that soem of the things he told them contradicted stuff sammy said and in essence questioned the gotti conviction so they railroaded his deal, etc plus it didnt help casso also got into a fight with a few other rats while in protective custody

Yeah, the majority of these surveillance images are from the mid-nineties to '98. I assume they were released after the DeCavalcante take-down on December 2, 1999.
