Outlaws, Angels, Sons, and Pagans oh my!

Outlaws, Angels, Sons, and Pagans oh my! - 10/05/09 08:24 PM

Ok so, after a long absence from these forums I started getting into the whole Biker Gang thing after I was through with reading about the
mob, gangs, etc.

Anyways I noticed a real lack of Biker Gang related topics in the forums and just wanted to add to the pool of knowledge on organized crime
here (why? Because this is probably the best forum I've been to on the topic).

So if anyone has a mutual interest in the topic you should totally link me (and therefore others) to some usuful articles/books/documentaries.

Youtube has 2 "Gangland" Episodes about the Sons of Silence and Pagans MCs

Here are the links, pretty interesting.

Pagans= http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kzE1vaS676M

Sons= http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2vA-eclejDs

I trust you can navigate youtube for the other parts by yourselves.

The History Channel (cable) has done dozens of episodes on biker gangs as well as non-Mafia-related urban gangs.

Shame I don't get even basic cable.

Any books anyone could reference me to? I've only seen things in passing on the Hell's Angels in books like "Gang Intellegence Manual" or that Hunter S. Thompson book.

Bikers, who for some reason are known in Australia as "bikies", have carved out their own niche in the crime scape here. In fact they're bloody huge. The Outlaws, Bandidos and Hells Angels have Australian chapters, and there are heaps of local outlaw-biker clubs. Their large control of Australia's amphetamine trade is well known, and due to a difference in laws making it easier to obtain here, Australian Hells Angels were found to be shipping P2P to their Californian colleagues during the 90's.
I dont know if youd be interested, but here;s some info on Australian outlaw motorcycle clubs.

This is an Australian blog about some biker clubs in the Northern Territory
And one about the Rebels.
Heres a link to the Outlaw MC, Australia
One to the Gypsy Jokers , which is apparently under redevelopment but has some links open.

A Wikipedia link to an infamous gang-fight between Australian Bandidos and a splinter faction that came to be known as the Commancheros. At a swap meet, the gangs clashed leaving seven dead, six gangmembers and a completely innocent 14 year old girl.

Speaking of the Pagans the feds just did a HUGE bust of the motorcycle gang. Read about it here!

Cool links Mickey, nice interview about the rebels. Never heard of 'em before.

DD, didn't know the Pagans were still doing things. Gangland does that to you with how they end episodes sometimes.

I was reading an old book once and it mentioned some of the little award badges some members of the Hell's Angels can get. This particular one was for sexual deviations of oral sex.

I'd try and detail it here but I can't find a link to any similiar article.

Ha, dude, yeah i think i know what your talking about. Was it in Hunter S. Thompsons book, his account of his time riding with the gang, Hells Angels ? Where he talks bout guys getting their "wings" with colours based on the sex they've had: red wings for making it with a chick "on her cycle" , brown wings for doin' it in the butt, black wings for making it with a black chick, etc?

Heh, its pretty grubby. But anyway, if that is the book your talking about, its a classic. Not only as one of Hunter Thompsons's best, but as a great account of the outlaw-biker mentality and beginings.

It was very similiar but it wasn't Hunter's book though.

It was getting wings for oral sex on women.

The green one was for performing on a woman "infested with insects"

(that means crabsss!)

"Under and alone" by Billy Queen,
A can't put down paperback by an ATF agent who infiltrates the mongols motorcycle gang in California, I highly recommend it.

Another thing I've noticed is their "Brand loyalty" to the point of stupidity. I currently ride a Kawasaki vulcan nomad, among other bikes, and some of these guys cop an attitude, until I tell them I've got a quarter million quality miles on two wheels. I've ridden the top 20 "best motorcycle roads in America" according to motorcyclist magazine. But anyway, I remember a quote from Sonny Barger himself, saying that if they had ridden the jap bikes early on, they'd of spent less time wrenching, and more time riding. I'm not trying to toot my own horn either, but living in the snow belt really limits riding opportunity.

But don't get me wrong, I'm not a Harley hater,
ridden lots of em', just don't like belt drive air cooled bikes, with expensive accessories.

Maybe I'll just shut my piehole now......seems the local chapter of the HA's had a local cop bothering them......
they turned his odometer to match his badge number.....he backed off....
