I can sometimes understand little phrases and single words. My italian american dictionary and phrasebook really helps.

Some of the words seem similiar to root words I had to learn when I took medical terminology in college, medical terminology is based on the Latin language, I know it sounds funny but they do seem similiar in ways.

i know spanish and french and some of it is close i suppose and i used to do latin lol

I am currently learning Italian (Pimsleur's Italian 1 at the moment.. then onto Pimsleurs Italian 2 and 3...)
