The Mafia In Canada - 01/15/06 05:45 AM

Does anybody have any information or know of any resources (books, websites, movies etc.) on The Mob in Canada? Any information regarding the activities of The Mob in the cities of Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, Ottawa and Hamilton would be much appreciated. Thanks.

The link Juventus provided was quite informative but does anyone else know where I could find some other stuff on The Mafia in Canada in particular in Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, Ottawa, Hamilton and Windsor?

An alternative way to go about it would be to do a search of bios of Stefano Magaddino, who was the Don of Buffalo, NY, and Joe Bonanno's cousin. Magaddino also was the self-proclaimed boss of southern Canada. The bios might give you something.

Thanks for the bibliography Don C.! I guess I'll just have to add these to my "to read" list that probably already numbers in the thousands. It might sound like a copout or whatever and I'm not like the busiest guy in the world or anything, but there just isn't enough time to read all the books I want to read and do all the things I want to do. John Lennon said it best: "Life is what happens to you while your busy making other plans."

From the article to which I've linked below (I will try to find a link to the Statistics Canada report):

A national police association is welcoming the publication of new crime data by Statistics Canada that provides the first quantitative look at gang and Mafia activity in the country.
