I almost completed this when I was 17. Hamlet is a perfect example of a grotesque. I was taught that a grotesque is someone who follows a certain desire and is completely changed into something horrible. Hamlet was driven mad by revenge. It is interesting how he goes about that.
I started reading it again. I am not too sure if it is the first popular portrayal of vengence, but it is definately an original. And revenge is something that the Puzo books focus on. I rather see it in an actual play, but I'll have to wait on that.
I imagine some of you were forced into reading that in high school. Any thoughts would be nice.
