Al Pacino's Voice

Al Pacino's Voice - 03/09/03 04:33 AM

Why did Pacino's voice get so deep?

He went from quiet AL Pacino in gf1 and Gf2, to Deep Throat (Perhaps that was the wrong expression) AL Pacino in Scarface, GF3, Scent of a woman, Carlito's Way, ANy Given Sunday, etc.

What happened to his voice?

He was a huge smoker. He smoked up to two packs a day, but he decided to quit in 95' because "he wanted to save his voice". It definitly is part of his trademark now. I admire that raspy, smoke filled voice, builds character.

does he drink? or too much smoking might cause this husky voice. but that's a very cool voice for a Don. . .

I miss how his voice sounded back in the day before it became all deep and raspy.
It was so cute
But I like his voice now, it's unmistakable.

I like his husky voice better...it adds character. Somebody told me he also had cancer of the throat at some point but im not too sure of that.

His voice certainly has taken a beating over the years. But whatever the pitch it's always been recognisable as being his. He's a much more cool kat now with the husky voice I think.

No doubt it was caused by smoiking. I think, that young and old; deep/husky and quiet, he has the coolest voice.

If he quit in 95, why was i tlike that back in 91? Carlitos Way.

I never assumed SMoking. I thought it was from dialect training for Scarface!

Two yrs before Scarface...Author Author...he has the Michael Corleone voice..then in Scarafce hes...Fuck GASPAR GOMEZ AND FUCK DE FUCKING DIAZ BROTHERS!

Notice thats where his voice changes.

Carlito's Way was made in 1993 and he developed the husky voice, in my opinion, after his "bomb" Revolution in 1985, which kept him out of movies for 4 years. He had the voice from then on, but he "quit" in 95', the voice did not develop then.
