The Batman spinoff to focus on city’s underworld

“The Batman” spin-off set to make audiences explore the gritty underworld of Gotham City

HBOMax is producing a spin-off series set in the universe of the 2022 movie The Batman. Taking place one week following the events of the movie, the series explores the rise to power of Oswald "Oz" Cobblepot (Colin Farrell) in Gotham City's criminal underworld.

Principal photography began on March 1, 2023, in New York City, using the working title “Boss”. It is expected to occur over five or six months, to last until mid-2023.

Sopranos actor John Cenatiempo has joined the cast



Cristin Milioti is portraying Carmine Falcone’s daughter Sofia. It’s the second time time that she portrays the daughter of a mob boss, having played Johnny Sack’s daughter Catherine on the Sopranos.

I liked The Batman because it was more crime thriller than superhero movie.

Based on his work since 2015 I feel like Colin Farrell deserves his own appreciation thread.

The writing process for “The Penguin” is finished, the series won’t be effected by the WGA strike.

Production is set to continue as scheduled, currently shooting in NY.
