The Seven Five - 12/31/15 03:18 AM

Just saw the Seven Five (Showtime Movie) about Michael Dowd and the NYPD cops busted in the mid 90s. Anyone else see this yet or know more about this story? Couldn't find much on google about the actual traffickers the cops were muscling for, Adam Diaz Organization, La Compania, all based in East New York from the early 80s throught the mid 90s.

Anyone have any more info about Adam Diaz from back then or what happened since deportation?

I knew the Dowds when I was young until I realized what low life trash they were. When I was a kid I looked up to one of Michaels brothers and he turned out to be just as scummy as him. Nobody was surprised that he did that shit. They were mostly low life South Shore Long Island shanty Irish trash. I mean no offense to the Irish but if you knew the Dowds and what they were capable of you would agree.

I seen it, I thought it was a pretty good doc. I also really like Adam Diaz and his interviews. Most specifically when they're talking about the transit cop who was shot. And Dowd asks Diaz to find the addicts who shot and killed the guy and Diaz basically said "If it was Kenny, i'd do it in a heartbeat", Kenny being Dowds partner. And Diaz continues and says "but for some guy I dont know? Nah man". And as much of a scumbag Dowd was, it just showed how selfish these dealers are. They used Dowd and his badge as security, a thief team, enforcers and sometimes his personal search and capture team. But when Dowd asks them for a favor, they straight denied him.

My closest childhood friend went on to become a detective sergeant in the 75 back in the '80s. The place was a fuckin' zoo. It was like the old, wild west there. I don't have any personal insight into what happened there but I suspect a lot of allegations are true.

I spent many of my early years in the East New York neighborhood served by the 75th. It was basically ok until the Seventies, when it became, as was said here, the Wild West. The drug capital of Brooklyn. No wonder there was so much money floating around to bribe cops with.

Dowd was not only a lowlife but a f*****g hypocrite. Yeah, sure, he cried over the murdered transit cop...
