The Irishman - 09/16/10 10:28 PM

There is a new movie comming up about the life of Cleveland mobster Danny Greene and his war with the mafia. It looks like the film has a good cast so I'm looking forward to this one.

Awesome, I heard about this.
I wonder when.
Decent cast too. I got this title confused, thought it was going to be about Frank Sheerhan.

Danny Greene is fascinating. He took on the entire Cleveland Mob. You know in the movies when an assassin comes after the main character, and he shifts the momentum and effortlessly murders his assassins? Danny Greene proved with a little luck, you too can be an action hero. Good stuff. I'm looking forward to this, and the Green Lantern movie.

that trailer sure looks good, i am allready looking forward to this movie. Only thing i am worried about is that they will make the Irishman a legend, the myth that he stood alone against the mafia. But guess thats the way things go in the movie business.

I just saw a thing on Bio about him on the series Mobster and it was the first I heard of him. Should be a pretty good movie I just hope they do not bring the Italians down to much.

Very closely named but very different, Frank Sheeran's story set to be on the big screen and named "The Irishman".

Re: The Irishman - 12/14/10 02:33 PM

what do you mean? there are 2 movies?

Re: The Irishman - 12/14/10 07:27 PM

They apparantly changed the name of this film to "kill the irishman".

They likely did this due to the other irishman film about Sheeran, directed by Scorsese.

so 2 films are coming out in 2011, kill the irishman, and the irishman.
The first about Danny from Cleveland, and other about Sheeran. thanks sonny

I also posted this at the real deal forum:

Greene and his war with the Cleveland mob is shown in the great documentary "crime inc." which is posted on youtube. You see authentic news reports and interviews with Greene himself and his killer Ray Ferritto.

About Ray Ferritto. He is portrayed by Robert Davi, which I think is an excellent choice as he really looks like Ferritto.

Greene's assassination is also shown with body parts and gore included.

It starts at about 9.00 in the first video. Enjoy!

when i heard about this movie a year or so ago i figured it was going to be low budget but after seeing the cast and the trailer it looks decent. Definitely well shot and a good budget. Decent writer as well...
