I have. I enjoyed it for the most part. The first 30-40 pages are pretty slow (unless you understand the game of baccarat) but after that, it picks up. You follow this guy's life and career throughout the novel. Though it covers several different sections, it ultimately covers abstract aspects. Stimulates a cogitative personality. I'd give it a B grade. Worth the penny I paid for it on Ebay.

A great read. It's my personal favorite of Puzo's novels.

Hi.I am now reading it and i am at the half.By the way i like the godfather a lot more.It has more philosophy, but in Fools die it is kind of an autobiography of Puzo himself. It's like his life- first a little job for the army, then he gets corrupted, then he works as a writer and so on.Just like Puzo's story. But it isn't as powerful as the Godfather.Whatever i havent have read it to the end.I am in the middle.

I also just read it and i thought is was very good. Though it was the first Puzo novel i have read so far. The detail and hypnotization of the casino floor the bood puts u under is amazing. Id give it an 8/10. Prob is a story of Mario Puzo life. What book does anyone recommend i read next?

I am getting more and more convinced that there is no point in finishing "Fools die".I am now at 350/524 pages, and i think it's getting too much of a stupid love novel.I don't believe in love,so i really don't like reading about it.I am asking if someone read it,is it going to happen something more complicated and more-political/mafia thing,or is it going to be the same shit all over to the end?And another question! The Sicilian-if i really hate the book"fools die" and love "The Godfather" should i read it?
