That sounds like a deal and a half. Excellent. Hardback books? Donnie Brasco is a great film. If you read the book too you'll see how well Depp and Pacino play there parts. It's immense. And you'll learn so much more than just from the movie. The books is excellent, couldn't put it down and read it in 3 days.

Hi Turi nahh not hardbacks but...I'm happy with paperback you know!! Your spot on about 'Donnie Brasco' I read the book ages ago and after seeing the film it makes so much more sense after reading the book, than if I hadnt read the book. I thought the film made Sonny Black much 'harder' than the book did. What do you think? I was in tears for Sonny Black reading the book, but the film I didnt make the same 'bond' with the character. A book can capture so much more and add such extra dimensions. Do you agree?

Yes I definately agree. But the main problem with reading Donnie Brasco is the fact that theres always another undercover agent he has to introduce and it just seems dodgy. I'm suprised Brasco was never under much supervision from the wiseguys. Don't get me wrong though it is interesting seeing the cases interlocking though.

You right aswell about Sonny you really do bond with him more in the book and Leftys devotion towards Brasco is amazing.

Turi which of the books have you read (obviously The Sicillian) would you recommend reading that first?
Yeah, I agree with you about the other agents in the Brasco story..one of them got caught out as in informer in the book if I remember right. Brasco was very lucky really or the wiseguys wern't very wise

I've got all of those books but have yet to read The Last Don. If you havn't read the Godfather your probably best reading that first. If you have maybe put that aside for a while and read The Sicilian then Omerta - both great reads, you'll love them.

And remember to post how much you like them once your finished.

I've read The Last Don, Omerta, The Fourth K and The Sicilian, all this summer. I would rate them as follows (best to worst):

The Sicilian
The Last Don
Omerta
The Fourth K

They're all good.

The Fourth K is about a mythical nephew of Robert, John and Ted who becomes President of the US. He has heavy encounters with an elite terrorist group and wrestles with the types of power issues you would expect at that level.
