No, I didn't say it was better. The title of this thread is "What's YOUR Favorite Trilogy." I personally like the Screams more than the Godfather's.

Am I the only person who thought Clerks was pure shit? I have no acting lessons but I'm sure my friends and I can pull off something better that.

10 replies and no one has mentioned DIE HARD!!
What is wrong with you people?
Bruce's baldness??????
Hi Debra! Fancy a slice of pizza?
Not being into Starwars, LOTR or Harry Potter, I didn't think there'd be too many more trilogies. You guys reminded me of some of my favorites. In no particular order.
Rocky
The Omen
Die Hard (the first is one of my favorites)
Rambo
Man with no name
TIS

Good thinking De Niro & Lavinia. I forgot to add the American Pie trilogy as well as the Hannibal Lecter series (Red Dragon was so pimp)

If GF III had been stronger, I would've picked GF, but I still have to say, the Star Wars Trilogy (in it's entirety) gets my nod for my favorite. GF I/II are still my favorite movies, independently.

You are the only person in my book. Just listen to his mastery of words. I highly doubt you could do that.
Also I would like to add Die Hard and the Hannibal Lecter Trilogy.

The John Ford/John Wayne trilogy of:
"Fort Apache"
"She Wore a Yellow Ribbon"
"Rio Grande"
Other than The Godfather?
Well then I wo7uld have to say Indiana Jones, although they are making a fourth one.
BTW- when did Rocky (5)and Star Wars (God only knows) stay as trilogys?

Re: Whats Your Favourite Trilogy - 12/08/04 02:38 AM
Besides the Godfather, I would have to say the Original Star Wars Trilogy.

Great films! I'd have to say they are at the top of my list.
The first III Rocky films were good, but the IIIrd came awfully close to throwing in the towel.
Don't forget those wonderful MAD MAX movies. The NAKED GUN trilogy is up there too!

Maybe so, but the IV was definitely the best IMO
Some people have been posting movie franchises, such as Alien and the Rocky films. They aren't trilogies.
My favourite is The Godfather.
I just finished Krzysztof Kieslowski's Three Colours trilogy, based on the colours of the French flag. That'll probably put some people off seeing it here. Oh well. Too bad; they're missing out on a cinematic delight (as always with the director of The Decalogue).

The original Star Wars trilogy is my favorite, but Three Colors isn't too far behind. White and Blue are quite flawed, and Red is easily the best segment, but as a whole they compliment each other perfectly. And the ending of Red puts it all in perspective. Both trilogies are very far ahead of The Godfather since Part III hurts the first two when they are judged as a whole.

Three dramas by Polish director Krzysztof Kieslowski, who did "The Dekalog." They're in French I think.
Blue White Red And of course, I cannot find them anywhere.
Once I get the money and find the right store, I will be searching for this.

Re: Whats Your Favourite Trilogy - 12/10/04 09:22 PM
im very surprised that everyone is bringing the godfather down a few ranks just because the third one wasn't up to par. i'd still say it's the best trilogy out there.
-the godfather trilogy
-the lord of the rings trilogy
-the jersey trilogy(clerks, mall rats, chasing amy)
-back to the future trilogy
-the terminator trilogy
-austin powers trilogy.

These are in no way in order.
Godfather
Original Star Wars
Die Hard(even though the 3rd one brings it way down)
Terminator
Back to the Future
American Pie
Man with no name
New Star Wars
Forgot to add Indiana Jones.

I can't believe how many people are listing the Matrix movies on here. The first one was sweet, the second one was terrible, and I only watched about twenty minutes of the third one before turning it off. God, awful.
Haha, regarding The Matrix, the first one was bad enough to put me off the rest! :p Excellent technological wizardry, but little else.
Mick
Besides GF it would have to be The Man With No Name Trilogy, but I think Leone's 2nd Trilogy (Once Upon a Time in the West, A Fistfull Of Dynamite, Once Upon a Time in America) was quite good, despite Dynamite, which I saw once on TV when it was very late, but didn't like it much.

Re: Whats Your Favourite Trilogy - 12/12/04 04:33 PM
i think that the reason people were drawn to the matrix was because of the effects. but since then there have been plenty of movies with better effects, so when the second and third matrix came out, there was nothing special about it. get what i mean?
i remember the other big movie that came out the year of the matrix. the mummy.
Posted By: Cancerkitty
Re: Whats Your Favourite Trilogy - 12/12/04 05:33 PM
I know that The Mummy was a really stupid movie, but I genuinely liked it. I don't know why, but I thought it was a very entertaining film. Hell, I even bought it on DVD.
Even though this isn't a trilogy I am going to list it anyway:
The James Bond Collection, and if the new Mission Impossible is good, that too.
Blade trilogy is one of my favorites although it is similiar to the GF one. First 2 were AWESOME the 3rd one REALLY IRRITATED me. It was a good movie but it all depends on your personality and what you look for in a movie.

Re: Whats Your Favourite Trilogy - 12/12/04 06:42 PM
i saw blade three yesterday and it confirmed what i already knew, there was no way in hell i was gonna like that trilogy. i mean i had attempted the fist one and only got through the first hour. the second one i only managed 30 minutes. and obviously i saw all of part 3 yesteraday at the theatre. and it just really was weird, ryan renolds is going around the whole movie making jokes, and it seemed like f**k was the most prolific word in the movie. blah. and to many cuts in the action sequences. i don't know, just not my kind of movie.
Yup exactly, I felt like the action was cut out to make way for jokes, but then again I think that actor can ONLY play those kinds of roles (jackass type roles). Also I have 2 problems with the Jessica Beil character- "I'm going to go out at night sneaking around and hunting vampires so of course I need to wear a shirt that shows off my stomach ane arms and pants that show off my ass"
and then she is in the shower naked (no you can't see anything) but SOMEONE explain to me how a vampire hunter in a shower naked furthers the storyline?

I couldn't agree with you more. And by the way, the Godfather Trilogy is the best trilogy ever. It's what brought me to these boards altogether.
