ME & MARIO memoir by Carol Gino

As some of you know, I met MARIO PUZO and his companion CAROL GINO in 1996 at a Manhattan book signing for his novel, THE LAST DON. I was in contact with Carol often as I was compiling MarioPuzo.com in the '90s and we have kept in touch ever since. She's an author in her own right, so I was excited to hear that she'd written a memoir about their relationship as well as a glimpse into the mind of the master storyteller himself! You may also remember that Carol visited us here on the BB way back in Sep 2001 to answer questions about THE FAMILY, Mario's novel that she completed after he passed away.

Was the Family a good read Geoff? I am definitely going to read the book you mentioned. Puzo was an interesting man. They say he could have been a great writer, but he had to go more commercial after his first novel The Dark Arena, a critical success, sold only a relatively low amount of books.

The Family was quite interesting, and I think a good read.
