Thought some of you might enjoy this. I could definitely spend hours checking out the different places. Back in the 80's NYC photographed every property for evaluation purposes and this was the result.

Apparently the photos were collected over a five year period so it will vary from photo to photo, but they're all from most likely the mid to late 80's.

SC, just happy to contribute.

It's amazing how much has changed since the 1980s. I grew up in the 80s and never realized how antiquated things were. I thought the world was state of the art then. Today I look at pictures of the cars then, the people, the store signage, it looks like it might as well be 50 years ago. Just a different world.

I'm amazed at the technology today. Just the fact one can access all these photos in the comfort of his own home is almost surreal. Back in the day you'd have to go to some local government office and dig through roles of microfilm to find a particular street.

And I think this helps us realize how rapidly the world changes. It's changing the way we are. Before we had the internet and information gathering was much more glacial, it was easy to be convinced that things stayed the same for a long time. Watch some sports highlights on youtube from just a couple of years ago, and the scoreboard graphics, etc, look a lot different. The world always was changing fast, now we just have on demand technology to document it, practically in real time.

Yeah, I know...

It's not that long ago in the grand scheme of things since people had to go outside in the freezing cold to a cobwebbed outhouse if they needed to go to the toilet.

It's amazing that it took so long for things like toilet paper and indoor plumbing to become a mainstream thing, yet there has been a constant progression in technology over the last 15 years in particular.

I mean toilet paper still had splinters in it 80 years ago.

Very cool link. I've seen Jimmy Nap's Hi Way Lounge, The 19th Hole on 86th St., Tommaso's Restaurant on 86th st. And the spot where the Veterans and Friends Social Club was right next to it. I;ve tried to find some other social club spots but some are hard to see.

Good info, Giovanni. I saw your pre-edited post where you say that you can't find any social clubs. Glad to know you found some. They had to have gotten photos of clubs in Bensonhurst. Check Bath ave and 13th ave. I'm sure you most of you have seen this google map of social clubs.

Thanks I'll check out the others you mentioned.
That google link was what I was using as a reference point.

I wasn't able to see the Ravenite, The Triangle, Palma Boys. Bergin Hunt and Fish was barely visible but not a great look at it.

And your Oakland A's killed my Rangers this year.

A's are on another spoiler spree. They'll trade everyone in the off season.
